Can I cancel Christmas next year?

title says it all - for the sanity of my family and for my poor bruised nose I really want to cancel xmas next year.

DD1 6 has Ataxic CP and although no formal diagnosis of sensory issues it has been hinted at by OT in the past. She does not have autism (we are told) as communication is not a problem.

So now we are in the lead up to another festive period and all hell has broken loose at home. My DD who is quite high maintenance with a low attention span normally has gone over the edge. She is hitting, screaming, kicking and last night head butted me on the face full on - hence the bruised nose. We know she is getting over stimulated (at MS school) with all thats going on but how on earth can we calm her down. We have no tv on in living room, low level lighting, no xmas tree in living room, we have heating turned down low to keep her cool and nothing is taking the edge off it.

Any ideas?

Deep pressure massage helps to calm down my DS when he is over stimulated. or he had his weighted blanket.

Ds2 is spending a significant amount of time in the bath at the moment!
