Dd1 sings. She always has, probably always will.

She is currently obsessed with Adele, and listens to it on her iPad daily. She will not wear headphones (sensory issues) so I have to suffer it too. She has recently branched out to listening to some Take That as well (a welcome relief, tbh)

Anyway. She has 3 songs that she really enjoys at the moment, and sings them on repeat. She has not been singing out loud much for a whe, and has only just re-started. Last week, it was nice to hear her enjoying her singing so much.

This week, my ears are bleeding Hmm Grin

WIBU to remove the offending songs from her iPad to at least force some diversity? Or is that too cruel?

I used to be able to take months of repetition. Now I am fed up after a week.

sadly, I can't wear headphones as usually have dd2 jabbering on to me about which shade of pink to colour in her latest princess picture. and ds chuckling and cooing too.

all-round noise overload.

I know I need to suck it up, but she does know the whole bloody album! all I'm after is a bit of variety

lol!

Now you KNOW you can't remove them from the ipad (I WISH there was a way of password protecting apps and importantly the ipod feature).

If I hear Domino or Moves like Jagger one more time............

oh, and dh and I were just laughing the otehr day about how, when I went into hospital to have ds, and I had just finished commenting to him how it was lovely to not hear that sodding Adele album for a bit, and how I would have a coupple of days off etc and yep, you've guessed it - what shoudl come on the radio right after they'd anaesthetised me (so I couldn't even run screaming form the operating theatre Grin) - yep, bloody Adele.

soundtrack of my life atm Hmm

Silverfrog, you have my sympathies. I bet even Adele is sick of that album by now.

Grin yeah, probably.

Dd1 is still at it - might try to get it on video and post it up - then you'd all agree with me Grin

What a nightmare - the whole purpose of getting DS an ipod with headphones was so we didn't have to listen to the same song on every car journey. I can't imagine what it must be like if they won't wear headphones.

Could you try some bright soft and squashy headphones or some fluffy ones like this

Adele all day sounds like my idea of torture.

DS1 sings "skyfooooollllle! Mr Tumboooooooooollllle!" and thankfully Disapproves of Adele.

Sadly no headphones are acceptable - serious issues with ears. Won't even wear ear defenders, and she is seriously noise sensitive Confused

Adele all day is my idea of torture too! I have it twice a day in the car (40 minute journeys) where it competes with the radio as I refuse to listen to just Adele for the rest of my days. And then from when we get in until bedtime.

I have gained footage - will post it up in a minute.

zzzzz, I feel your pain, I really do.

The worst of it atm is that she sings at me while I am feeding ds. I a captive audience and cannot escape.

Oh well, one day she might move on to pastures new

I know, I know......I do sympathise.
We are having to do long journeys regularly and there is only so much old mcdonald one can take.. We so want him to talk and he will, but I can completely see myself posting same as you in a couple of years timeGrin

Oh silver I feel your pain. We had the Beatles Benefit of Mr Kite for a loooong time, and are just emerging from Fats Waller Ain't Misbehaving (don't ask).

Have to say your dd is an absolute cutie, she is gorgeous (but you knew that of course didn't you) Smile

Would she wear a hat ?

Report
silverfrog · 16/11/2012 20:25

Thanks for all the praise. She is indeed lovely (when quiet Grin).

I just wish she'd sing something else - its always the same, with each song she latches onto. We are hopefully in the final throes of this album, as she really does know it all.

It has always been this way, she sang before she could talk. I hAve a growing list of songs which just make me despair Grin

Singing lessons?
Dd used to drive me around the bend making music.... Until I realised she needed lessons as an outlet. She still is a bit much at times... But better.
