apparently.... I'm taking it with a pinch of salt but someone must have said similar.

A TA at school, 'DD what are you good at? People like you are supposed to be good at something'.

Confused and a bit Angry

Hmm people have asked this about DS. My answer; "memorising the lines from Winnie the Pooh films and collecting toilet roll holders."

The only reasonable answer is to whisper 'I can fly!', or for the older child 'I see dead people!'.

LadyMaryChristmas · 12/11/2012 21:27

You could teach them to say 'I'm good at spotting ignorant people' Wink

I am saving a line a friend on FB said for just such an occasion.
When I'm asked the immortal question... 'What is Toads special power?'
My answer shall be.......

He is autistic, not a fucking mutant from the X-men!!

I am liking the idea of ds's difficulties being his super power though.!
Anxiety boy!! Der der deeerrr!!!
Nah don't quite cut it does it?
He's good at maps? Map-reader boy!! Der der deeerrr!!

Still more of a side-kick than a super-hero though I think

DS2 is 'Doctor Who Facts Boy.' Nah, not that impressive! Grin He'll never fight crime with that super power. I can't remember who used to say her DS could fly, think it was Hecate, or Hully or someone. I love it!

Hiding things.

DS1 hid his coat at school, today. I had a panicked call just before hometime because it still hadn't turned up.

DS2 hides the floor, very thoroughly. :o

My answer to this question has been long planned, Honesty Grin DS is very good at that because he just doesn't get why some one would say something not true, and I'll take that any day of the week.

I'm useless fact woman. I can brain dump useless facts about certain subjects.
My son is taxi/ bus boy, can spot a bus or taxi (recognises all types of taxi, even the vito vans) from very far away. (Speech delay, but eccentric!)

Hee-hee, these are funny.

What's starting to annoy me is the professionals going on about "these children" Angry Angry

Oh, and the EP said after ds' assessment (AS), "I thought he'd do better at the patterns test because these children tend to"! Yup, they're also meant to write code in their sleep, be maths geniuses, etc.

DS could talk to you for hours about Transformers, just don't ask him about the people in it Smile
