Claw and Sweet you may be interested ...

Today, DS's EOTAS teacher was shocked that the final statement named mainstream and said that is they asked (only teaching contact as DS is out of school) she would say it is not suitable. She said that if the LEA intended to persuade him to mainstream they should not have referred him to EOTAS and that he was now their responsibility. Their plan is to carry out tuition at home with the aim of getting him (with the same teacher) to a small half-way house complex needs group and then a special school, again initially accompanied by his EOTAS teacher.

Very much - he is ours now and I don't care what the statementing people say.

Food for thought - whose policies are easier to meet and who trumps who?

Oct 2011 our statement review looked at trying to identify another special school, DS has never been MS. With ways forward on getting him back into school with support from the home tutor, who would then be one of his 2:1. Anyway his next ed rev is in 2 weeks, put back nearly 2 month, last years statement still isn't finalised and no school has yet to be identified.

My feelings exactly with the home tutor, she is ours now and intend keeping it that way, with hopes to get an individual budget on top to pay for all the extras needed that he is not getting atm.
