Ds keep coming home from school trying to tell me jokes and reallly dosnt get them, from him knock knock? whos there? donut? donut who? donut fat butt! hahaha etc
So i tried some simple jokes with him and he really dosnt get them at all but does think he does and laughs hysterically, i.e
Why do giraffes have such long necks? ds comes up with random reasons as too why....
Because they have smelly feet!! ? ds laughs but says that?s not possible giraffess have hooves not feet!

what do elves learn in school? ds laughs and says how to make xmas stuff, i say no the answer is the elf a bet, hes confused

now he laughs hysterically and loves playing this 'game' but dosnt 'get' anything even simple jokes is this normal in a 6.9 years child?
the reason i ask is ds does seem to take a lot of things literally and i wonder if jokes are another example of this
