1. very predictable routine, meet 1-2-1 in same place, at same time, with predictable dialogue and predictable sequence eg she says hello Hoth Junior, we are going to put your bag and coat away....
2. depending on functioning level, heaps of dialogue/social stories about the home/school transition at home
3. family book: book that goes with him every time he is seperated with a photo of everyone who he is usually with in known environments so 1-2-1 can use it for "mum is at home with baby x/ at work/ etc like in the photo, dad is ..., etc)
(my son is now 8 but says that he can't get a picture of me when I am not with him so the family book really helps him)
4. ensure 1-2-1 is really up with soothing techniques that are helpful to your ds (for mine it is movement so a swing, or food, eating seems to ground him if offered before he melts down)
