Had ds annual review and ds was as nervous as anything as meetings always ended badly at his old school.
I have been so proud of him after all the stress over people believing in him and me and the dx process that he is doing so well.
He now has 3 friends who come to tea every week which is hectic but brilliant at the same time :)
School have another 4 children with AS and now they all go into dinner early (10 mins) and find their table and aparently they all eye roll at each other when the "others" come in and start queing up 
The first week he took himself off out the classroom willy nilly, but by the second week and up till now he no longer does that and asks for a break to go to his work station (quiet area he designed during the summer hols with them)
Problem solving is a major issue with DS as he cannot see beyond a disaster that has befallen and how to rectify it. But teacher said as an example he broke his pencil when drawing and stormed out the class, but didnt distrupt the class at all just merely went just outside to the cloakroom bit and hid under his coat. Teacher followed and ds just said "I cant draw" when prompted he explained his pencil broke but teacher told him he has all different pencils he can choose from and guided him back in. :) That is the only major issue they have had and the teacher praised him on choosing not to disrupt and taking himself off calmly and explaining what was wrong. THIS is an achievement.
Statement is still new and they are happy with it and to follow it which I am glad as there is a hell of a lot in there for them to follow.
But what took me back and reduced me to tears which in turn started the SALT off bawling was that the HT and the SENCO and his TAs said he was a joy and a privilege to be teaching, in how much he has come on owing to past struggles and trust. So much so in that they asked my permission for them to request changing his statement from B3 (high challenging behaviour) to Autism with a different band b because they feel it is a disservice and they feel DS deserves the recognition that his behaviour was only as a result due to his Autism and it not being recognised and catered for and at present the statement does not reflect this.
They have looked past the behaviour to my child I was all choked up!

That's lovely, sounds like the staff are all seeing the boy first and the condition second and that's fab. Lovely he is making good progress too.
Thanks all :) and you are right we are so used to hearing the negative the good makes you want to say "pardon?"
I got to say if they have done all this in 4.5 weeks ds is going to do well there. Their teaching methods are not always "in with government dictatorial guidelines" 
and they somehow manage to follow the rules but also develop their own policy on learning. Every child has "brain breaks" not just DS or other SEN children and they have now included more vestibular/proprioception excercises since their awareness training requested on his statement, so ALL children benefit and therefore DS and others like him are included.
They designed centre pieces similar to a flip over menu in a restaurant for the kids desks. These have memory prompts/reminders in written and visual pics on them which if your child is shy or like mine hates/refuses to ask for help then they can glance at these and not feel singled out and feel much more independent in problem solving. Its a great idea.
He even said to me they will be doing a xmas concert and he said he might have a part in it but that he has to learn an instrument first. I nearly fell through the floor! Now if that happens I am going to need a cartload of kleenex
