MIL went to a WI meet last week and had a speaker from this project - \link{http://www.clearvisionproject.org/\Clear Vision Project}.

ClearVision is a UK postal lending library of mainstream children's books with added braille. Our books all have braille, print and pictures, making them suitable for visually-impaired and sighted children and adults to share.

You can \link{http://www.clearvisionproject.org/support.asp\sponsor} the production of new books for £12 a book.

But part of what they were encouraging at the WI meet was trying to get people to have a go at making \link{http://www.clearvisionproject.org/tactile.asp\tactile books}.

A tactile book appeals to all senses. I have a leaflet about what types of books are meded and why, and ideas of themes. I also have instructions of what the book should be like and include, including sizes. And I have some A4 sheets giving instructions of how to put one together.

Tyoes of themes they need include nursery rhymes and traditional verses, traditional stories, early learning (numbers, opposities, letters, shapes), everyday life or your own stories and rhymes.

According to the instructions from the WI speaker you don't need to be a skilled or experienced needleworker and the instructions look reasonably okay to follow.

If anyone is interested I am happy to photocopy these sheets and pass them onto you.
