It fits my situation with both my boys my Wilf and my angel son Jack. A very special friend sent it to me and said it summed us all up.......................

is the song that soothes my soul and helps calm my angst and anger when the whole SEN battle gets too much.

Don't know if it will have the same effect on others, but it certainly works for me. Smile

I love that song as well Lisa, but I have the Cyndi Lauper version.

I remember singing it to ds1 when he was little.

I'd completely forgotten that until I read your post. Smile Sad Smile

It's got to be 'chasing cars' by snow patrol for me. Just balances out shit LAs and useless NHS interventions..... soppy but slightly angry too Grin

Ah - now I did know that song. Just didn't know the title or who it was by. Blush

It's beautiful and when you listen to it from the perspective we are talking about here it does help to put things into perspective.

Actually, it's really helping me to listen to all these songs this evening, as I've been such a ranty old buzzard over the past couple of days for various reasons.

Thank you. Smile

When DS1 was born Dh bought me Kate Bush's album, Aerial. I listened to it all the time whilst looking after him as a baby, and loved the song , which she wrote for her son.
As DS got older, he became more and more like Bertie as Kate Bush describes him, especially as his AS became more prevalent, and just thinking about the words bring a lump to my throat:

Bertie
Here comes the sunshine
Here comes that son of mine
Here comes the everything
Here's a song and a song for him

Sweet kisses
Three wishes
Lovely bertie

The most willful
The most beautiful
The most truly fantastic smile
I've ever seen

Sweet kisses
Three wishes
Lovely bertie

You bring me so much joy
And then you bring me
More joy

I shall listen to that one. I love Kate Bush's early stuff.

And when I'm at the point that DS is irritating me i listen to
Through my eyes by Scott James :(
It just gives me a wake up call that DS isn't choosing to be like he is and gives me much more patience from the reserve tank

I made a bit of a thing about Cheryl Coles 'I'm gonna fight fight fight fight fight for this love' when I was going through my hell.

The message was clear and I knew it was shite enough to disappear from radio playlists by the time the fight was over.

Like the sentiment!

Also 'if you tolerate this, the your children will be next' by the manics when I'm feeling mad!
