With an opening address by Dame Stephanie Shirley, Founding Patron of Prior's Court School, entrepreneur and philanthropist
We are extremely honoured that Professor Gary Mesibov will be visiting Prior's Court for the first time. As a school with TEACCH at its core it is an enormous coup to be able to welcome him and to hear him present at our conference. Professor Pat Howlin (a trustee at Prior's Court) is one of the most respected and renowned researchers whose principal research interests focus on autism and other developmental disorders and includes evaluations of a variety of different intervention programmes, the impact of early intervention and research on the transition to adulthood by people with autism. Dr Cathy Tissot is the parent of a young man with autism and was for several years Head of Training at Prior's Court. She is a very engaging speaker and her talk on Sexuality will be one not to miss. Ros Blackburn has visited Prior's Court before and is a well-known, highly articulate speaker whose views on the challenges of life as an adult with autism and going to work will be fervently put and insightful. The conference will be chaired by Dr Tim Williams who is not only extremely well-known for his expertise in field of autism and OCD but also Consultant Clinical Psychologist at Prior's Court. The opening address will be given by Dame Stephanie Shirley without whose vision and enormous financial generosity there would be no Prior's Court School.
