ds1 was assessed by 2 paediatricians earlier this year. they both agreed that he has aspergers/hfa and that would likely be his diagnosis.

we are arranging a speech and language assessment via the school, which they said they had to do as part of the entire assessment.

I am not sure what, if anything, I should be doing now?

I am trying to arrange a meeting with his teacher and the SENCO at school- what should be the things I am asking/telling them about? what do I need for him?

The other thing is, he is becoming increasingly agitated at home. we're getting an awful lot of "no-one wants to be friends with me", "no-one loves me", "you just want to leave me in the wild and never have me any more", "i wish i could die" etc etc etc
He really struggles socially, and he really struggles when I tell him off (hence me wanting to leave him in the wild and never have him back! as if!)... and this is obviously having an impact on his emotional wellbeing. do I need to ask for a referral to CAMHS?

I feel like it was all go for a while, getting initial assessments done, having people agree with me that something was up... and now nothing. I want to make sure he gets the best possible start in life, I don't want his issues now to make life any harder for him in the long run than they have to... but I don't know what I ought to be doing to make things as easy as possible for him?

yes go and see senco and teacher, ask what they are putting in place to support him.
Does he have any friends? If not it might be worth writing a social story on how to make friends. Invite some nice children back from school.

As for the worries and stress, I dont know, we are going though the same with dd1 and struggling to find help for her, but the school at looking at some sort of art therapy service and waiting for referal to behavioural team.

How old is he?

he is 6 and a half.

he kind of has some friends, but he keeps saying they won't play with him or are mean to him. he isn't too bad at making friends but he tends to then focus on on person to the exclusion of everyone else, wants them to only play his games etc etc
they only have to do one thing he doesn't like and he decides they "hate" him
