Had a phone call today from the DWP about DD's DLA claim.
The first bit of the discussion was rather random - They'd sent the adult claim form first despite me asking for a child one, then when I phoned to tell them they said they would send the right one but that I should send the front cover of the other one with the application as proof I asked for it at the right time and it would backdate to the first phonecall. According to the woman I spoke to today, apparently this is not the case - you have to include the whole form, signed and dated along with the completed form! However, it won't alter the date her DLA is paid from as they pay from the first Wednesday after the form was ordered which was the date on the completed form... Or something!
However, she also said she was finalising the claim today and so we would get a letter in the next week or so with the outcome. Something tells me the next few days are going to feel very long! I asked her if she could tell me over the phone and she said no, she couldn't give the decision over the phone but 'If I were you I wouldn't worry about it'. I assume she was trying to say in a coded way that we haven't been turned down! Have been madly checking the bank account too as I've heard payments often go in before the letter arrives, and I want to know what rate she's been given! Not in yet though!
Seems a bit daft they couldn't tell me over the phone, but at least I know the wait is nearly over...
