c) cleaner/help around the house with kids etc

d) private OT

e) something else.

We are currently pre-diagnosis and have an appeal for refusal to assess for statement. Struggling at home. Everything broken. Everything stressful.

Spend it on giving yourself a bit of a break? if thats getting a cleaner, buying some new things for the house or a babysitter or respite or whatever. A happy mum is the best mum!! x

Go 2nd Hand shop replace odd broken bits £40 to spend

Get rid of whats broken so you dont have to look at it and let it depress you. I rather see a whole where it was than look at it all the time.

Yes, I do need a new sofa just not sure whether to get one yet or use the DLA backpay to get evidence ready for diagnosis or statement. Hmmm at risk of getting shot down in flames here, did just have a spare £1000 and spent it on an apple mac Pro! But before I do get shot at, I might add it is because I'm about to undertake a PGCE and need it for all sorts inc teaching, and also that my wrists are so bad I rely on a laptop. I had one at university which was crap, used to have to arrive 15 minutes earlier than the lecture just to get the damn thing started!
It is however a luxury in a way (only that I could've got a cheaper one) and normally I would've spent a spare bit of cash on something like paying my electricity bill just so I know am in credit for the washing etc...
I will be guarding it with my life!

coff Gosh, yes, cleaning up all the intestines and bits of bone as well as all the other bodily fluids we have to deal with on a daily basis...not on at all!

That comes to just over £1k and if ds1 needs tests we will have to pay for them too...sigh. No b day or xmas gifts for me this year!

So; someone to knock down stupid little half wall previous people put in then smooth floor and lay the said laminate

also to put railings on top of low wall outside so neighbourhood kids don't all line up to sit lurking on it and throwing the gravel from our front garden

I would get a bubble tube for my ds. I have made him a sensory room but now can't afford any equipment to put in it. He needs really robust items which are indestructible - these are terribly expensive. O well maybe one day.....

Well I have spent £60 of the money so far. On new mops would you believe! The cleaner left a hand written note to say our mops were unpleasant so I have bought three mops! A fluffy dry duster one, a sort of rag one and a sponge one.

The £1000 is my DLA backpay so I need to sort of spend it on things to make life easier or better. Which can indeed include things which make me less stressed. I didnt want to write that in the heading though as its the sort of thing newspapers pick up on! (Smug woman spends childs DLA on MOPS!)

we had BIBIC outreach today who said we must get a very big trampoline and squeeze it into our tiny garden. I thought they would say DS was fine but he ticked all the severe boxes for almost all sensory problems. Especially auditory and emotional. Anyway. Thats got nothing to do with this thread either....

Sorry Smug, just had to reply to that...now back on track re: mops/DLA. I got told off yesterday for mentioning that I spent some of the boys on the mortgage!!!! So you're well and truly a very bad person indeed mwhahahahaha (laughs evilly)

Seriously though, we have to spend it where it's needed and ultimately if it benefits the kids in some way (e.g keeping a roof over their heads, or taking some cleaning stress away) then that is all good IMO!
