My week's been OK. DS has been at scout camp - and amazingly I've missed him.

I found a nanny on Sunday, so that's lowered my stress levels heaps.

DD came back from holiday unable to read. :) But seems to be picking it back up again....

What have you guys all been up to?

Smile on the nanny front indigo - i know that was a big stresser when you got left in the lurch.
We've just had odd days out - DS has been amazingly loud and stroppy. But there is hope on the horizon - school's back soon Grin
Waiting for an OT report that she reckoned would be with me before school starts so we can start the year with a new sensory diet. I know a watched kettle never boils, a watched letterbox never delivers either!

Hi all, back from cornwall, had a great time, good weather and great surf.

Dd3 seemed to like the feeling of being in a washing machine as she was washed around in the waves wearing her bouyancy aid , she just kept popping back up with a big grin on her face.Grin.

We have completed 9 of the 14 pages of the DISCO assessment at CAMHS and are hoping to finish it on the 5th sept, fingers crossed.

Hope your DS enjoyed scout camp indigo.

Hello all!

Glad you found a nanny Indigo. Phew!

Stressful week here. Huge stresses trying to sort out the DLA claim and data protection request, but hey thats another thread.... DH diagnosed with bipolar disorder yesterday so we have scary meds and probably disclose to his work which is not feeling like a nice thing to have to do.

DS has been reasonable this week apart from waking up during the night a lot. Hoping for a good night tonight..... Phew!

As I'm sitting here, grey skies, chucking it down - reading about glorious cornwall, great time, great weather and great surf Envy Envy Envy I can't help thinking that you should name change to Igottalife Grin
i so get your DD3 - there is nothing in the world as awesome as the power of waves and the feeling against you.
Then i read the assessment filling in and realised that maybe a name change wasn't on the cards Brew Wine

hello smug
if waves are the best therapy - sleep deprivation must be the worst torture.
lets break open the chocolate stash, wine, brew, all the usual for the dieters and non drinkers (diet coke for me please Grin ) and i'll open a bottle of gin for ninja if she's around Grin

morning all. (well, tis here anyway). dd2 went white water rafting yesterday Grin to continue with the watery theme! part of a fab adaptive programme that she's been on this summer. today they are having their 'last day of camp' trip to a local theme park (where i know she will obsessively want to ride the same ride all day Grin) so all good here.

well apart from me. waiting for kidney scans and stuff .

today i will be mostly cold-calling to try and fundraise for the programme - looking for donations from local businesses for a silent auction.

and i have to re-write my cv, which looks like something from the dark ages. Blush, so i might have to hold off on the vino for a bit! (oo, and the local ice cream bus are donating all their profits from today to the adaptive programme, so it's triple scoops all round when they get back from the park. yum!)

smug, that's a bit rough for you and dh. do you feel content that it's the 'right' dx and meds? must be a little positive to be starting some treatment?

Takes a lot to make me feel bad these days Ineedalife - and i never begrudge any deserving SN parent a good time Smile - just musing on the contrasts of murky london and glorious cornwall.

yes I think it is the right diagnosis, I think they caught it before it got too bad which is good but it makes DH query whether he is THAT bad? I am very bipolar myself although no diagnosis yet. Very much wondering if DSs problems are early bipolar and perhaps that is why we are having trouble getting a clear diagnosis. I know we won't get a bipolar diagnosis for a 3 year old though so what do we do? Ho hum.....I think they caught it before it got too bad which is good but it makes DH query whether he is THAT bad? Hi all. Having dreadful problems this week between myself and DH (he's clinically depressed, in the middle of switching meds, so a real joy to be around Hmm). DH seems to be favouring DS3 lately, as every time DS3 and DS2 get in a scrap, he's convinced DS2 is at fault, regardless of even if he SEES DS3 instigate it. It's doing my head in. Well, that and the constant shouting. At this rate I'll be at the top of the list for a stroke.....

not a bad week here, bit dull really, mainly me playing taxi driver for the dcs and costing me a fortune in new school stuff. I have school shoe shopping to do with dd2, the thought alone fills me with dread . . . where did that gin go? Missing the sn group that finished last week and hoping it'll be back to normal next year and run every week of the holidays.

ooo holiday porn. i fancy somewhere with a beach. i haven't seen a beach for ever. with blue sea, and white sand. and a children's club with sensible english speaking staff with sn experience. please.

actually, we might be off to oz, to see the kid's godmother who has emigrated. with 5 of us it's going to be a nightmare to afford it, so it might get postponed (again) but we'll get there eventually.

urgh, triggles, that sounds a joy. nearly school though? poor old ds1 gets it in the neck here. to be fair it usually is him, but i do spend quite a lot of my life holding my breath when dh gets on a roll.

Evening all

Funny week here - second week of school for DS and the (temp) teacher not really doing it for me, although DS seems OK. Went into see the HT about support today and didn't really get quite what I want but tbh the poor man is between a rock and a hard place with his budgets.

Am very 'musey' about DS - might do another post - in terms of us having such a vague DX and the amount of inputs he's getting. HT mentioned a couple of behaviour things and I can see so many issues sort of staring at us over the horizon. Blah.

But it's Friday. Book club drinks tonight with cocktails.

Not good Sad

Ds1 back at school next week and ds1 starts nursery so am expecting I will have a full on meltdown by friday!

Very grey and rainy here - cant even look at hols for next year...all the money is going on private assessments for ds1 Sad

madwoman - yes, sadly I think the return to school will be good for DS2, although I'd rather have him at home, as I hate that he's gone all day at school. He's always so exhausted after school each day.

Although holding my breath when DH is on a roll? I'm tempted to hold a cast iron frying pan. Grin

Grin given that dh already bears scars on his skull from an entirely un-wifely related incident, i'd better not.

Thanks ninja for the pidgin - i mean pidjin - got gin on the brain now Grin I too long for our sn group to be back, normal place, longer times offered!
madwoman's got me going back to the holiday porn with the mention of oz. DS1 has been once, but the other DSs haven't and we really should go.

Have got over my grumpiness of yesterday - so ds got turned down for dla - we'll appeal!, so my back is agony from sleeping on a shitty airbed for a week - I have persuaded dh that before we go camping again, we save for a decent airbed and the mega painkillers the dr prescribed have sorted out the back pain and made everything fuzzy around the edges!

Onwards and upwards and a ginless gin&tonic for me pleaseSmile
