Visual timetables - help needed

For a long time I have made various visual timetables for my ASD DS (aged 6) but they are never sturdy/ long-lasting.

I have just seen this asd home kit www.asdvisualaids.com/asd-home-pack-action-cards.html which looks as though it could really work. Yes, it comes with a hefty price tag but I want to know if it is worthit. Has anyone ever used ready made visual timetables and if so, please tell me which ones have or haven't worked.

I have never used ready made visuals but looking at these they do look sturdy and long lasting and a lot of varied signs :) It is the price of things that puts me off though. I tend to draw my own from tips from sites and my own thoughts. Then laminate them and velcro stip the backs. They are not to expensive to replace then. You can pick up laminate sheets from your local pound shop for exactly a pound and a then its just a case of thin card or paper.

The person from the Advisory Teaching Service (?) made a whole bunch of them for DS2 so we could use them at home. No cost involved to us. She told us if we needed more, to let her know.

If that's not available to you, I would think it'd be cheaper to print at home and laminate.

I ordered a load of pictures from ebay (just type in autism) just to start myself off and have printed top up ones since. It was about 400 for about £20 it would of took hours for me to print them off with my very old printer. They have been very good. I also bought these little photo albums to make photo visual for getting dresses, toilet (potty training at the moment) and bed time.

I got a lot of my visual stuff for my DS off ebay....there is a lady that makes them and are really reasonable and brilliant quality! She even personalises them for you and come in a lovely zip up wallet to keep them in! if you go onto ebay and put Autism in the search bar should come up....think they are called Special Friends who makes them x
