hi everyone! chezsign has been headless chooksville this week.

finished teaching school basic signs, (they have been brill) made them certificates and arranged to do a surprise presentation in assembly. got whole school signing, good work, well done, and giving a waved round of applause. So sweet!

ds been into school with other newbies for a visit, (been in before, but on own.) met a 'nice' friendly mummy and swapped numbers to meet for coffee, so at least mummy is feeling a bit less insecure. Ds takes it all in stride. Grin!

Will have to start to make all the 'thanks for having him' pressies with ds next week.... (pre-school, portage and special needs group, groups of workers and one to ones...)

How have all your weeks gone??

Sounds like some good things Sign

My week has been a bit weird.

Kids all have got their school reports and next year teachers. I'm pleased with their teachers.

Their reports are mostly odd and confusing. I think I must have gone mad some time and not realised Grin

(What do you make of DD is unable to navigate the computer screen Confused - do you think maybe they forgot she can't read and asked her to click on the 'start' button?)

I particularly liked their suggestion that as DD was unable to learn anything about Ancient Greeks this year, we spend the summer pre-teaching her next year's history syllabus.

Got summer fair tomorrow - hope weather's good.

Hi all dd1 visited her new school and loves it which is fab news as she's a school refuser at the mo so she's having some half days there over next few weeks. Was disappointed with her report, she always had above average in most areas and this years teacher has treated her appalingly and a result she's now below average and average but hoping she will do better at new school with a teacher that gives a shit - also pissed off they let her slide that much in a year!
Dd2 nutty as ever!

Hi all,

Sign - sounds like some good things this week Smile. Haven't looked at other threads yet, but probably won't look at that one now!

Indigo and Chundle - Some teachers just don't understand do they Sad.

My week's been pretty good. DS was still at Playscheme and had a great time. They've got him to go on public transport almost every day Grin. They said he's been taking the opportunities to experience different things. Great when his diagnosis is AS Grin Grin.

Have had some quality time with DD, so feeling virtuous. Have also managed to fit some work in.

Have managed to catch up with some friends and have apologised to husband for when I'm grumpy.

Also my mouth is feeling a bit better. Went to see dishy doctor on Wed about sinusitis. He's given me nasal spary and it's beginning to work.

Ooh, sorry.... longish post Blush.

Hi all, got the boasting out of my system! We had reports today, too. Pretty accurate, I think, better than yours Indigo! [hshock] DS3 has 'improved in all areas in literacy but needs to increase the quantity of writing he produces.' ie He's a lazy sod! DS2 has been advising students and teachers on their technical problems in ICT!

DS has spent an induction day in his new secondary with his tutor group. We also had new parents evening, at which 3 unknown children came up to us and said 'hello DS2!' Seems he made an impression! [hhmm]

I'm out tonight so won't be here much.

Well done sign, and little sign. I'm sure we worry more about transitions than they do! I saw that thread, I felt tempted to leave a Biscuit but thought better not to get involved!

That new school sounds positive, Chundle. Sounds like you won't be sorry to leave the old one.

Getting in early tonight, as I have a feeling I might crash before 9.00 pm.

Sign, sounds like another postive week for you. I love hearing your positive news, it really cheers me up.

Indigo, I always hate getting the end of year reports, they are so generic at our school that it rarely resembles my dcs in any recognisable way.

Odd week here, am still on my diet, but have raging PMT which has made me into the grumpy Mummy from hell. Needless to say I won't be weighing myself this week.

Got mine and ds's blood test results and both were, no further action required. Ds's paed's secretary rang to book an emergency appointment, but I was in with the tumble drier (raining buckets here today) and didn't hear the call, then have been unable to get through to her all day since. Hmm

The boys had transition day this week, where they spent a day in their next year classes with their new teacher. Both boys had previously been told who they were having, only to arrive and find out it had all changed.

Ds1's year have all been mixed up, so some of the children from his class have gone into the other year 5 class and some of the other class are moving to his. No-one thought it might be an idea to pre-warn me about this, so I could prepare him, despite the inclusion teacher being heavily involved with transition. Angry Received an email from her saying the transition morning went well and ds was happy, only to have him sob all evening, not sleep and then cry all the next morning while he was getting ready for school. Sad Fortunately, they did have the foresight to keep him with his best friend and small group of tolerant peers, as well as shifting the troubled looked after boy and ds's main bully to the other class - which should distribute the children that need a lot of extra support more evenly throughout the year. He also has the better half of this year's teachers (the one whose own ds has AS) two days a week next year - which he was really pleased about. So all in all the shake up will probably be better for him - I just wish they'd given me the opportunity to prepare him for it slowly.

Ds2 has gone from being told he was having a nice lady teacher to having one of two male teachers in the whole school - who also happens to be just about the strictest. He's petrified of him, not helped by ds1 having a couple of serious run-ins with him last year prior to his dx. I don't think he's that bad and think its great that the school has two male teachers, as good male role-models in schools are often thin on the ground. Am hoping he'll relax when he realises he's not an ogre.

Ds1 has a crazy week next week with a school trip, sports day and a charity/non-uniform day, so am fully expecting him to be on edge. Roll on the summer holidays.

Dd has decided this week that she is well and truly a two year old, whose favourite word is no and must use her favourite word at every available opportunity. She's also under the weather, so bursting into screams wails tears every five minutes over nothing, then wilting and saying "I'm not feeling very well Mummy" whilst doing a good impression of a limpet.

We aren't doing a thing this weekend - can't remember the last weekend when we didn't have something planned and am so looking forward to the break.

Don't anyone offer me booze or chocolate tonight - am already perilously close to my calories for today.

sign, that sounds really positive. Flame is definitely the right word in that case.

indigo, hope the weather improves for tomorrow

chundle, will join you on the 'things better improve at new school bench' dd3 has learnt nothing this year.

creator, glad your mouths a bit better, how many trips to the doc do you think will make your sinuses better Grin

fairly quiet week here, dd3s teacher decided she didn't need to see me for parents evening, so much for inclusion then! Ds1 has been for a visit to his new school, met the senco as well, hoping september goes better than I think it will for him. Had the lovely auntevil round for a right whinge tea, just hope she didn't mind the mess [hblush]

Moose - How about fruit salad....

Ellen - Tanned, not too tall, not too small, not too fat, not too thin, listens really, really well, always asks how I'm feeling generally, even when I go with DS about him. DS once had tantrum at bottom of stairs and refused to go up. Dr came out of room and transformed the situation. He also thinks I'm doing great job with DS and tells me.
