Justa - I think you're right to trust the school. You already have a working relationship with them, which is why you trust them.

I think this board can encourage us to be too confrontational at times. Not everything needs to be enforceable by law. There are lots of good people and good schools out there.

The main thing is the relationship and the intentions of the school. There have been loads of threads about 'school won't honour what's in my statement'......

if you know the school, and trust them to do what is best for your ds with his statement hours and funding, then that is all that is needed.

dd1 has the most diabolically written statement - nothing specified, nothing quantified. it is a joke (and a very bad one, at that grin)

we didn't need to push for an of that, because we won the argument over what school would be named, and that is all we needed. the school does the rest, which is the way we wanted it.

we didn't want the school hand-tied over how many hours SALT or OT had been delivered - it is all delivered through her programme/general education. if there is a need for extra SALT input, then the SALT comes. same for OT.

well done, justa - hope your ds2 settles well and is happy smile
