Heavy metal testing and vitamin deficiency tresting for ASD

We are thinking about testing our son for heavy metals and also vitamin or iron defiencies. Where to start? For the heavy metal test do we do hair test, urine test or blood test? Is any test ok or is there something specific that has to be done for ASD. Also re vitamin or iron test again is there a specific test or what do we request? Am considering trying the Behaviour Balance liquid from the Detox People but would be interested to see if there are any deficiencies.
Thanks

Ellie when dd was referred to the Developmental paed (social communication diffs possible ASD) he ran a full blood test to test for chromosome disorders and vitamin/mineral difficiences. It revealed that dd was low on Iron, so I was advised by him to use and iron supplement

I was recommended this. Turn around is usually 2- 3 weeks but they check for vitamin and mineral deficiency as well as toxic metals present and they will provide with recommendations on a cleansing programme and supplementations.

DS tested deficient in all the vitamins presnt in the BB DMG + some minerals as well as traces of metals assumed to be from vaccinations and was recommended I do the GAPS diet since his alergy test also showed he should be avoiding diary and wheat and rye and his gut needs cleansing to get rid of the toxicity..

I already give ds suppliments but what I really want to know is what exactly is N-Dimethylglycine as its usually used in body builders suppliments and I wouldnt want to put something in to ds i dont know enough about ive looked at the sites but they seem to be advocating it as a cure and not enough info on how they think it works just that it does iyswimim not saying its not good as im a person who believes anythings worth a go if it improves my ds ill go for it as long as im sure it will do no harm

I think you will get best answer from the detox people if you contact them via email or the chat option on the website.

Last year I read some research that 1-4 tablets of 125mg DMG are the recommended dose increased gradually from 1-4. The article was on autism.com but cant find it atm..will look again later.
