Nightmare, maddmummy. No real advice as my DS's problem with soiling is different. Does he have diarrhoea?

go to GP just to rule out any physical isssue, like constipation, GP or school nurse could refer you to a continence nurse in case this continues. sounds like you think it's behavioural. stupid question can he explain why he's not using the toilet? All I can suggest is strongly encouraging appropriate behaviour, even if it's just going to the toilet to clean himself up straight after an accident at this stage.

DS2 always seems to manage to make it to the toilet, but only just! He kind of hops around a bit (he's 4yo) and even if you ask him if he needs the toilet, he'll say no. Then suddenly it's "oh I have to go to the toilet!" and he's running desperately to the toilet. (one of the reasons we don't have him wear difficult clothing or a belt - or he'd never make it in time!)

Ooops.. meant to add that I'm not sure specifically why he waits so long. I'm not sure if he can't really feel that he has to go or is simply too caught up in what he is doing to give in to the pressure. Hmm
