Hi
I don't know any Neurologist but I noticed you are from Hull. I am too -my DS has SPD, possibly APD and think Asperges.

Is it your son or daughter?

Hi, My son was originally referred to dr Basheer but he left before we were seen.. we then got lost in the system due to no new neurologist bein put in place. A year later we were seen by Dr massey who i have since been told is not a neurologist!! i have heard so many horror stories regarding neurologists and Hull! As for private we did enquire but hit a wall much like we are now trying to find a private physio.. Sorry if this is no help, i hope you have more luck hun, Fran x

Thank you both, Hi Sally, it's my son, he has spd, and speech issues. He also has possible asd, adhd or/and apd but is only young so we are still waiting.
We saw Dr Basheer when my son was a baby, but I understand he's left. Have never seen Dr Massey with my son but have with my brother and lets just say that is not a road I want to go down again.
I would go out of county if I need to I wonder if anyone can recommende a good neurologist anywhere in Yorkshire?

If it helps gemprincess, my son sees a private OT between York and Malton. I'm sure they also have physio's on their team. It's the nearest place I have found to Hull. Pm me if you want their details.

I'm dithering about what to post here feynman! We are under the paediatric neurology team at LGI. There are lots of very highly regarded consultants in Leeds who I would really like to recommend, but let's just say we haven't always had the best experience there but I think that was more due to the care we received whilst DS was an inpatient as opposed to clinic visits.

We looked into trying to go private a few years ago, but found that most of the paediatric consultants didn't do private.

It's probably a bit too far for you, but we were very impressed by the care from Sheffield Childrens Hospital - the paediatric neurologists there are Dr Baxter and Dr Rittey who were fantastic.

Im in Sheffield, there is a childrens centre NHS called Rygate...google it. We got dds dx (ASD) last year and they have an excellent therapy wing (OT) too. If you can get a referal to neuro disability I would recommend them. hth.
