Hi all,

As some of you may have read in the past, we have had concerns over DD1 with regards to possible ADHD/ADD/AS etc etc etc.

Well, we finally had our first meeting with the community paediatrician specialist yesterday, and she was brilliant! Gave us an unconfirmed diagnosis of ADHD - said she was a pretty much text book case!

We have filled out the Connors Questionnaire, and she is sending one to DD1's teacher, who after parents evening last night has said she will be completely honest with, and we will see the doctor again in July with the results, and where we go from there!

Am feeling really positive on one level that we know what we are dealing with, but scared on the other, as to what it actually means for DD1.

Anyone with experience of ADHD in a girl of 6/7yrs old would be much appreciated!

thanks Silverfrog - I was surprised at how easy it was as I was told to be prepared for battle!

Doctor took some convincing to refer, but after that, we had an appointment within 2 months and now, to be seen again in about 6 weeks time is brilliant.

So glad we took the bull by the horns and decided to get something done, but now its the practical side of it that is scaring me!

Which type of ADHD has she got? Hyperactive? Predominantly Inattentive? or combined?

Well done for getting a dx.
