Hi, just wondered if anyone out there can help me find a wee bit support and friendship. I;ve a 3 year old son no dx but most likely aspergers and an 18 month old daughter with whom i have some concerns about. Really i'm just looking for someone to chat to and if they live near by to meet would be great. Feel quite lost and confused by it all.

Hi Jooly
Where are u? I don't have any experience of ASD as my DS has cerebral palsy but there are a few Scottish mums on here who I'm sure can help.

I'm sure we could also suggest links for relevant advice in Scotland if it helps. Let us know where you want to start.

I'm in Alloa btw.

Hi Jooly
I'm near you then.

I'm hoping some more AS mums will respond to this to help you but I could maybe meet you in Stirling sometime for coffee if that would be helpful. I can't offer advice on AS but I know how isolating it can be when ur child isn't "normal".

thankyou, very kind of you both. I wouldn't want anyone going out of their way. Really just needed a wee chat to moan on about my worries with someone in a similar situation. I'm just about to start the assessment procedure and i know i'll get a bit weepy about it all. I do have supportive friends but it would be nice to meet others with young children in similar circumstances. Funny how they tell you 1 in every hundred child is affected by asd yet i dont know anyone else around here, would dearly love to meet them. Anyway, thankyou sookieD and Myra, i know life is hectic for everyone with xmas but if you are ever around and fancy a blether that'd be great. x
