SEN school leaving children outside ALONE!?

Hi all I'm new to this and I'm after advice,

I live in Worcestershire and in the past two weeks I've been to pick my DS up early from school there have been two incidents.

Incident 1.

LB 1 was outside on play frame (climbing and slide) this has two gates on it one leading to access by anyone in the school grounds the other into a veranda covered area which leads to classrooms. He had NO socks or shoes on but seemed happy enough singing to himself. No adult around at all.

Asked my DS's teacher if he was meant to be alone and she said 'NO!' Contacted the classroom he was from and they said he was having sensory processing time to come in which I can understand but ALONE!?

TODAY!! Incident 2.

LB 2 was outside in the veranda covered area ALONE! he was screaming and crying seemingly angry and upset pulling down he's on the door handle which was clearly locked.

These children have an array of SEN. Am I over reacting being concerned that neither of these times an adult was outside with them. The area they are in is fenced off but only by a wooden picket fence that any adult could hop over.

Any advice would be helpful I've sent a complaint into Ofsted and I'm going to call up SEN services tomorrow.

I'm in the school tomorrow to do a day course for sleep which other parents are attending.

Also do I mention this in front of the other parents to see what their reaction is?

Advice is appreciated Smile

Are they alone alone or is there a staff member watching with a door ajar?
If alone alone then I'd definetly raise a concern

The doors were closed shut. Unsure if a member of staff was watching from inside. I raised my concerns with the school assistant head and I was assured that a member of staff would have been watching them. I asked other parents at the school and they didn't seem concerned so maybe this is just to allow the children space and time to cool down. I always thought a member of staff would need to be outside with them if the doors were closed. But maybe not.
