How was your ASD boy at 3,5?

Hi,
Being on the AS myself (what used to be called Asperger, i'm not sure what the PC way to say it is) I'm watching DS1 now 3,5 quite carefully. Psychiatrist has asked to see him based on a few things I said but I'm on the fence. He is happy.
How was your DS at that age? Could you already tell?
Thank you

At the time we didn't know because we had no experience of asd, we knew something was different and with hindsight it was very obvious once we knew what we were looking for, if that makes any sense.

At 3.5 my son communicated non-verbally, he was unable to use speech to communicate his needs but was able to count, name colours, alphabet, animals etc. He had ok eye contact with familiar people but avoided eye contact with new people, didn’t interact with children his age and preferred older kids/adults, fussy eater, repetitive play, loved jumping, loved cuddles, had very basic understanding of language, liked routine

We knew our son was autistic at 3. He had virtually no language, no social skills, didn't make eye contact, exhibited bizarre behaviour and had regular meltdowns.
