SEN

Childcare for teen

Hello. I'm a sole provider, single mum of a child (almost a teenager) with SEN. I have just about managed to carry on working, all be it part-time and going freelance by relying on after school clubs. But now my son goes to a specialist secondary school I am really struggling to find reliable child care after school. I am already thinking of a career change as there are so many appointments (different days of the week) that I need to take time off for, so my question is how do other people manage to work and find childcare for older SEN kids? Any ideas for childcare and flexible self-employment? Thanks in advance.

I do additional care work outside of my main line of work during school holidays, and have found the 'Special Needs Experience jobs' section on the childcare.co.uk website to be a really reliable place for families and potential care workers to find each other.
