I'm looking for help. How do I go about arranging a dyslexia test? Specifically for dyscalculia - the type of dyslexia associated with numbers.

There was is very few sources of information for dyscalculia, and the ones that exist make no reference to diagnosis or testing options

Any help appreciated

I had my DS assessed privately by an EP for dyslexia at the start of Y2 and she also diagnosed dyscalculia which I had never heard of at the time though I was aware that DS had zero number sense. I don't know for sure, but it may be that the dyscalculia test is part and parcel of dyslexia testing. There are some really good practical books on how to help kids with dyscalculia. Worth investing in practical apparatus like dienes, numicon and a slavonic abacus (google them!) I keep any maths we do at home short and sweet and we don't write anything down.

Hope that helps some. Good luck!

An educational Psychologist will conduct the relevant tests.
