I work at both Chilworth House and Chilworth House Upper School so hope I may be able to answer your questions for you. Many of our students have diagnoses of ASD, ADHD and dyslexia and staff that work with the students are given specialist training around these diagnoses to enable them to fully understand and therefore support the pupils in the best way possible. With regards to dyslexia, the teachers have experience of and training in dyslexia friendly strategies. The school also does dyslexia screening and uses IDL (Indirect Dyslexia Learning) which is software used to further support the pupils. IDL is used both in focused tuition around literacy development as well as used to support teaching in class. Lastly we are very lucky that we have a full therapy team based at the schools which includes an Educational Psychologist who is in school on a minimum of a weekly basis and will develop programs specific to an individual child and then support and train the staff with implementing it.

If you would like to know anything more or would like to come and visit the school and have a look around, please feel free to contact me on 01844 337720. Thanks, Monica
