My son also has Asperger Syndrome. Dyslexia action are suggesting 2 x 1 hour sessions of specific program for him to improve reading comprehension. This is a multi sensory system they say, undefined as to what it is, and at great cost to us (we don't mind, but want something to work). This will also mean 2 hours travelling at either end of school day and impact on other lessons at school. Or do we use the highly recommended (by everyone) system called Toe by Toe. School are offering TBT at 5 x 10mins at lunch times every day or we can do ourselves by the recommended 20mins every day. -Help confused mum with a recent diagnosis.

You might also want to take a look at EasyRead and perhaps do the trial test with him.

DD is working through it and it has really helped her - we tried Toe by Toe first and it was difficult and frustrating, although she was much younger at the time. But the first few lessons of EasyRead were a revelation - for the first time she could trust herself to decode properly.

BTW It's not cheap, but you get telephone support and when compared to specialist coaching at ££ it's not too bad (about £70 a month for 10 months). She is continuing with spelling beyond the 10 month stage now and no further payments.

Thanks for the recommendation. Its difficult to know which course to take. Everyone seems to want to sell you something. Had another look at the Dyslexia Action system and think I may go with them.
