DD - difficulty processing information?

Hi all. My DD's teacher asked to see me and told me DD seemed to have difficulty processing information sometimes. He said she takes a long time to react to instructions. Also that she sometimes became anxious if routines changed. He advised me to get her hearing tested and also wants the SENCO to observe her next week. At the same time, she is very high functioning, probably top of her class.
He wouldn't tell me what sort of problem he thought she had, and I'm worrying a lot. If I had a label, I could do some research. Any clues? Thanks a lot.

sounds to me like she may have some auditory memory process delay. does she react quicker following instructions when visual aids are used?

Can you explain auditory memory process delay? my DS is similar but struggles to keep up... he has had Glue ear since he was 3 and is now on 3rd set of grommets, he has also worn hearing aids.

He has been seen by an EP but this hasn't really given any clues, only that he struggles with concentration, is a visual learner, finds it difficult to order instructions and complete task timely, and gets anxious.
With my DS; he spent much of his pre-school experience with poor hearing and this has had huge impact on his development.

As an worried parent you try and find the answer and solutions but its really hard, good luck with the observation. Try and get the hearing assessment asap both my children have glue ear both displayed totally different symptoms!!!
