The Journal of Autism and Developmental Disorders is offering free access to its online research papers again, until end of December this year. Well worth a look for those who are interested. Normally there's a fairly readable conclusion even if the science is a bit baffling sometimes! Particularly interested in the paper showing that those of us on the autism spectrum have difficulty with understanding face to face speech. Seems our brains don't connect up what we're seeing from lip movements and what we're hearing with sounds. Adds to the problems we have with decoding face expressions and eye contact. No wonder we can find written stuff or pictures so much easier!
