Anyone have any views

ICS

  • small class 12 - 15
  • specialist support in house
  • LSA - learning support assistants available
  • Specialist teachers also available
  • has proven record of SEN but not a specialist school - so mixture of kids like in mainstream school
  • mix of kids from varying international, not all remain from yr 7 to just before university - dynamics changes somewhat
  • offer IB Diploma

Centre academy - london

  • class sizes max 6 kids
  • no LSA but specialist teachers
  • takes varying SEN needs - a broad range ADHD, ASD, Dyslexic, dypraxia etc
  • kids stay on longer till college or uni etc - same friends for long
  • offer american high school diploma

they both seem similiar - has anyone this same problem - deciding special school or not.

Yes I have the same problem. Had thought that ds would need mainstream as he is bright and should be challenged academically, but am considering special (also in and round London) because he has AS and would get more help socially and emotionally.
