Too fat for a baby carrier?!

Yikes! Just had my third and have managed the last six years without one but really fancy a baby carrier but a little concerned as a size 16 plus size mama that I'm not going to be comfortable or even have a carrier big enough to fit?! Has anyone else experienced this? I have been doing SW and have lost weight and really want to excerise now to boost the loss and feel great, I love walking but so restricted to walks with a pushchair! Any recommendations would be amazing! Thanks xx

I was 16/18 when I had ds. I fit fine into a Connecta boobs, baby, tummy and all. Also had a caboo but found it too complicated!

Could you go to a local sling meet and try some?

I second going to a local sling library. Even slim women have preferences as to which slings feel more comfortable, you really can't tell from reviews what will suit you. I was a size 18+ when I got mine, can't for the life of me remember what it was called, despite using it every day for 18months! But I tried on two or three that I really didn't like at all, and then this one that felt completely comfortable.

Before I got to the sling library I got one of those stretchy material wrap type things from ebay, the seller did them in extra large for 18+ and it was very cheap, so I used that for a few weeks but wasn't really suitable for the baby when they got bigger so moved onto a more structured carrier from the sling library.

I'm a large size 16 with a small baby. I have found a Hana baby stretchy wrap, a Lenny Lamb woven wrap and a Lillebaby buckled carrier all to be very comfortable. My understanding is that Connectas are not very comfy for plus size people as the waistband is not padded and can dig in and rub. Try a local or online sling library to see what works for you.

I'm plus sized and coped with Lille baby, ring sling, back pack, and others I tried.
Second the pp who advised sling library. Even if you just get to try them on then rent for a couple of weeks, you can buy later. There are good fb groups for buying 2nd hand
