Sling for a 13 month old?

I've used a wrap for the last year but DD is very bouncy and wriggly in it now and I'm having to constantly readjust! She's about 20lb.

I'm also pregnant and feeling quite feeble so DP is going to be doing most of the carrying. He doesn't like the faffing around with the wrap and wants something he can just buckle in place. He has lower back problems too so needs the weight to be as high up/on his shoulders as possible.

We were looking at the boba 3G as it says it sits higher than other similar carriers. It looks quite hot for this weather was our other concern? Does anyone have any experience with this or can make any other suggestions?

Thanks!

I'm 32 weeks pregnant and have just bought a connecta which I can comfortably carry my 20 month old in still on my back. Really easy to put on, can be used from new born and nice and small to pack when she wants to walk. Really easy for my dh to use too and not too hot even in this weather .

Thanks, DP has taken against the ergo for reasons I can't fathom. I have wondered if the connecta might be an option though.

The manduca was another option I've wondered about if anyone has any experience? I read somewhere that it might be better for tall adults but less good in hot weather.

Find a sling meet or library near you and go try as many on as you can. I think slings are quite a personal thing as far as comfort etc

I have a manduca and have used it with my now 15 month old for about 6 months. I regularly now don't take the buggy out and just wear the sling. I am quite tall and find it very comfortable and not too hot in this recent warm weather

I only wish it folded into it self some way to make sure into a bag or something. At the moment I just have it hanging down when not in use. My ds loves the hip carry position which is why we went for this one.

Another vote for ergo baby carrier, love ours and can pop them on your back or hip. I've had a few different ones handed down, baby bjorn and chicco baby ones cut into my shoulders. Bought the ergo baby for an overseas trip because it takes most of the weight on your hips and ds is now 14 months and quite chunky but fine to carry around, I'm 16w pregnant at the moment.
