Stretchy wrap - changing the height of the cross

I have been using a stretchy wrap with 12wo DS2. He is quite long, and I think he's probably a little bit too high up now, but if I try to tie it so that the front cross is lower down, it seems to just end up too loose. Does anyone have any tips or suggestions? Thanks again.

Maybe try bouncing. Once you've got him in and before you secure by tying, have a BIG bounce so gravity pulls him down a little and then tie. That way the wrap should still be holding him onto you tightly but he's a little lower.

Its reallly hard to explain through type, I can show you anytime!! Maybe get yourself to a sling meet/sling library for some hands on help?

Thanks, I think I understand what you mean, but I've been pre-tying the wrap before putting him in (it's a stretchy wrap). But I might try some bouncing anyway - at the very least it'll probably amuse him Grin

Are you putting his feet out, or still froggied?

His feet are out, I imagine that makes him lower if anything?

Look at moby website, it has instructions for kangaroo hold which I use- it's easier to adjust because you finish tying it after baby is in.'i find it easier for my 13 week old dd

Thanks, I have given that a couple of gos, and so far he has ended up too low - but I suspect I just need to tie it a little tighter so I will try again. And tying it around him was less scary/difficult than I expected (aside from not having got it quite right yet), so that was a nice discovery too.

When you pull the fabric over baby's shoulder and under bum, you have to give it a good pull to take up slack. I sort of pull up first otherwise panel across middle is too loose. Also, hold baby up in position you want then to end in before you wrap. I love tying this way because I can get a snug fit.
