Eating for 2

So I've been a member of SW on and off for 13yrs. In between I've tried keto diet, slimfast, actidiet, Herbalife, calorie counting, fasting, you name it I've pretty much tried it and non of them work long term.

When I fell pregnant I was 12st 6 I'm 5ft 10, I now weight 13st 6lb and I'm expecting at least another 1stone before she's born.
With my first 2 babies I gained between 3-41/2stone because I ate for 4 and I really don't want to be like that again.

I'm rejoining SW tomorrow as I've not been since lockdown but I'm currently 28weeks pregnant. I know I'm not going to lose weight over the next few weeks as I'm growing another human and my intention is to go to group to develop healthy eating habits again so once baby is born I'll be able to lose the baby weight. My worry is how do I recondition my brain to not be disappointed with a gain even though I know I'm going to gain if that makes sense.

Anyone else currently pregnant and attending group?
Thank you Smile

I’m not in your position but can you try to think of each weekly gain as your baby growing. Surely that’s a positive. So you are weighing in to check the nutrients you are eating are helping your baby grow?
I don’t know! But wishing you lots of luck

@9millioncansofbeans you're definitely right I've got to look at it that way and not pay attention to the numbers xx

@WhoUsedMyName oh hi 👋🏼
Same as me then.

I’m really struggling at the minute. I start off being really good and then I’m so busy and get so tired I cave and grab something and then can't stop, then feel shit and sick.
Vicious cycle.
I need to sit and actually plan things properly but I'm struggling to find time.

Being pregnant doesn't really give you an excuse to eat for two. It's a myth that being pregnant means you can eat for two people. The foetus / baby requires food and nutrients but not a full person! It's a fallacy to think this. So try and cut down as best you can, change your mindset. It's lazy. Good luck x

I actually lost weight during the first 2 trimesters, then stuffed my face with treat street and gained it all back and then some!
