It's Monday, I've weighed in and I'm still 12 stone. Been a bit slack in the last week. I've been trying to give up my biggest vice which is wine, so I sort of decided last week that was my focus, which resulted in me overlooking a few syns...or fifty 🤫

Anyone want to start a support group on here?

I need to get back to 11 stone, I have a work uniform to get back into in October (when I go back from maternity leave). This is my motivation.

Me!
I started SW two weeks ago, weigh in number two is tomorrow. Started at pretty much 80kg and would like to get to around 70kg. Lost 2kg last week.
Have stuck to it completely so far, and found it ok. My nemesis is snacking so trying to make sure I have no unhealthy snacks in the house. I’m enjoying cooking healthy meals from scratch? Although that might get more tricky once I’m off furlough.

Me!!!
I'm rejoining am old group for the 3rd time (maybe 4th) each time I jump down a couple of stone and then one creeps on so I go back up, then start again in the cycle, never actually reached target!

My official weigh day is tomorrow but I'm trying to start today because everyone knows it starts on a Monday 😂

Just downloaded the slim it app so I can track syns and hex's but never really got my head around 2 a choices so need to work that out

Ah glad you guys are on board @DamitJanet and @menacetosobriety!

I trained as a chef when I left school so I have no excuses on the cooking from scratch, I find that bit easy. However it's the wine that does me in. Also breakfast I really struggle with as I'm vegetarian and don't eat eggs. I always begrudge 'wasting my a hexB or syns on breakfast.
I honestly don't snack at all, it doesn't interest me. But like I say, offer me a glass of wine after 5pm and I lose all willpower.
I've realised there's no point in my using syns on wine, because I'm wine just makes me eat bigger portions of dinner and have a sugar crash before bed.

I think there's talk of meetings starting again mid August?

Sorry I've not learnt how to tag yet!

Being a chef sounds awesome! I love to cook at home but struggle with planning, as soon as something takes me off the plan I crumble, waiting to empty a drawer in the freezer so that I can claim it for SW meals from Iceland to just have something in.

I'm up to 9 syns already today because I'm trying to use the food we have before I buy SW friendly food

Weigh in today at 76.6kg, so 3.4kg down (think that’s just over half a stone) in a bit over 2 weeks. Pleased with that, although very aware it’s going to slow down.
Bit nervous today, have to do a long walk (avoiding public transport) and that always makes me hungry!

I too am a veggie, doesn’t eat eggs and a lover of wine. I’m so sad to see the syn content of alcohol 😭
I don’t eat quorn either.
Today I’m going to sort app out and plan some meals.
I’m 17.3 and 5.11 I want to be under 14 ASAP Goal weight is 11.7.

Ah @SnakesOrLadders maybe we are kindred SW spirits.

I had a crumpet this morning because it was all that we had in before shopping delivery 😬

I joined (rejoined but a new group) six weeks ago and I've lost 7lbs. I'm finding it much easier right now, even though I'm having to plan more which I've never really done before.

How is everyone doing? My app won't work yet so I'm having to look at syns on the website which is entertaining

I've found so much stuff has massive syns that I love so trying to find lower syn alternatives

I’m doing ok, yesterday was the first time I’d really felt hungry, just due to all the walking I did I think.
I’m on furlough at the moment so quite enjoying planning my meals and cooking. The planning part takes me ages and won’t be feasible once I’m working so need to have a think about that.
How’s everyone doing?

@DamitJanet I'm on furlough too Brew really hoping to get back to work soon!

Last time I did SW I used the slow cooker a lot it would make 2 meals and as long as I was on top of getting it filled the night before and remembered to add meat and switch on in the morning then it worked really well

Hi there,

I’ve just rejoined. I hate the app with an intensity. Joined a week ago and so far lost 5 lbs. Just glad to finally be willing to let myself lose weight.

What is about the wine you like? I tend to drink water so like it because it’s a different taste. If this is the case, try some Diet Coke or flavoured spring water.

Strangely, I was thinking what I would answer if anyone asked me me my three biggest slimming tips this morning. Not sure if it’s helpful to anyone.

  1. change cereal to porridge with fruit or defrosted frozen fruit. Cereal is deceptively high in sugar.
  2. only have one lot if carbs a day
  3. don’t beat myself up if I have the odd cake etc.

Fortunately, I’m not a sweet tooth.

Another one joining if that's ok Grin
I've put on 1and a half stone since I had an accident at Christmas.
First weigh in today and lost 2 pounds so pleased enough with that. Really really need to get the weight back off so I can go wedding dress shopping for next year but even that isn't giving me as much motivation as I had hoped!

Hi all,
I rejoined SW in may. Had a baby last year, then was on ADs and put on so much weight.
I had three stone to lose, have lost nearly a stone since may which sounds good but it just feels so hard this time.
I'm always starving, I'm not a fan of fruit and really struggling with only one hex b.
Will be glad of the support here Smile

@dk20 - I find porridge helps me to avoid hunger pains. On cereal, I would be hungry by 11am. With porridge, I can last longer, and am not as hungry at lunch.

Another tip I heard (by Fern Britain many moons ago on This Morning) is to have protein with your snack. So chop up some cheese with your apple, for example. It seems to be more effective.

I have the bars as my hex b so cant have cereal, porridge or bread without synning it.
I've tried it with the bread as my hex b also, but then I am struggling for low syn snack ideas.
