I'm seeing great results combining these two plans and wondering if anyone else was doing the same? Basically the kitchen is closed from 8pm til 12 noon. Only black tea, black coffee, herbal teas and water allowed. No zero xal drinks no milk in tea etc. After 12 noon and til 8pm I'm finding it so easy to stick to Food Optimising, I'm eating less and feeling fuller much quicker and 3 lbs down in5 days!!! anyone want to join?

Yes that sounds great!!

Can you have a black tea/coffee though before 12?

I rejoined sw this week

Yes water and black tea or coffee are fine. I'm on day 6 know and am within my Syns and actually missed both A choices without noticing yesterday. That's unheard of for me.

My dh just came in with the first strawberries from the garden and I had to say no. It's been relatively easy all week not having breakfast going to be harder with him home I think. I have magic pancakes made and ready to go for 12 noon!

Bit too much alcohol last night and a raging hangover means this morning has been a hard wait

I'm doing 11-7 as found waiting until 12 a bit late for me!

I've been for a walk around the field this morning and came back very hungry so had some pineapple, melon & mango at 11.30

Lunch should be in an hour - roast chicken, potatoes, carrots, broccoli, 1 Yorkshire (syns) and gravy (2 syns)

Will probably have something like cheese on toast for dinner using my A& B choices

Hoping to leave some syns for either a glass of wine or an ice cream later on!

I did SW years ago. Lost all the weight but put on and then some when I stopped. It doesn't sort out Why you feel the need to stuff your face and self sabotage.
Anyway!!

16:8 is great. I only started 2 days ago but I like the pattern.
I am doing 9.30-5.30 as we eat with kids at 5. It's been fine to be honest. I feel fuller for longer!

Just had a lovely brunch with pulled pork cheesy coleslaw homemade bread and corn on the cob. I have carrot soup for 3pm and an on plan Bbq at 6 so today is looking good. I was going over my Syns with snacking every day before 16/8 but even with last nights gin fiesta I'm still within my allowance this week.

How are you getting on?

It's my weigh in today and lost 1 1/2lb, was hoping it be a bit more but know that it I carry it on then that will be a good weekly loss

I'm doing slimming world and I only eat two meals a day . Always after 12 and never after 8... I do drink coffee with a drop of milk and always stick to plan , can't say the weight is falling off ! 🙄.. I might try a few days of black coffee and see if it makes a difference .

I've got much energy and I'm sleeping a bit better day 9 today and I really didn't want to wait till 12 but it passed. Sat went rather off plan and I went over my weekly syns but maintained at my weigh on yesterday so I think that's a win I'd usually put on a couple if I went that much over. I'm definitely eating less but I couldn't do 2 meals a day and I find generally I lose more when I eat more so I'm going to stick to a big brunch after 12 a soup type snack at 3 ish and dinner at 7. Kitchen closes at 8 is definitely my mind set now.

I could do with a few sweets things that aren't high syns, ordered some hi fi bars but they haven't arrived yet

I've had our Tesco order this morning so had the McCain jacket potatoes with a huge salad & some tuna & extra light mayo at 12, went for a walk this afternoon and took a pack of mango & pineapple then tonight we're having Mexican chicken tray bake with a veg rice pouch & a pack of frozen veg as our roast veg didn't come!

Got my zoom sw group at 6 tonight

That sounds like a great day mines been bang on ending on 9 subs. My go to sweet treat is a Berry flavoured muller with a chic options sachet mixed in. My fab combo is raspberry muller and Turkish delight options if I can get them

That's brilliant well done!

I lost 1.5lb this week, I'm pleased as I did have a Chinese takeaway and bottle of wine as it was DH birthday

I've got the new app and I love it! So much easier to keep a daily food diary and it's checking all the syns which is great

Hoping for 2lb this week

Well done!

I combine SW with 16/8. Lost 4 stone in 7 months and have maintained weight for nearly 2 years. For me it's worked completely. I wouldn't say that I do 16/8 every day but certainly 5 days out of 7.

Ooh that's motivating Cleveland I've maintained this week but stuck to 16:8 I think the half empty jar of Nutella contains is the reason Sad

Does having milk in tea and coffee during fasting hours make a difference.

I think I might try combining the two but not sure I could go without my morning cup of tea.

I have stuck to it rigidly only green tea or black coffee no diet drinks even. I am doing it for health reasons as I have severe fatigue post covid and apparently if you give your body a break from eating your digestive system doesn't need to burn calories so the fatigue is lessened. Not sure I explained that well but it's really working for me. As I understand it any calories such as those in milk will interrupt the fast and hugely reduce the benefits.

I'm a slimming world target member (just got back to target) but today is day one of 16:8 because I think my target should realistic be half a stone less than I am now so that my bmi is a bit healthier (it's bang on 25 now).

I've found fasting until 12 okay today and easier than I thought. I had wondered about doing half 9 until half 5 after reading someone in here does that but I'm an evening snacker so I'd like to have the option to have something after tea even if it's just fruit and Mullerlights.

@hellocleveland - thank you for sharing - your story is very motivational, especially the maintaining for 2 years part! Just what I needed to read today!

I'm a yo-yo dieter so the maintaining part is where my mind is focused already despite being at the start of this particular weight-loss journey. I've been playing with IF on and off for a while and I'm becoming increasingly convinced by it, and not just for weight-loss/maintenance. SW and 16:8 (I'm also going to aim for a 4+ hr food break between meal 1 and meal 2, and have a max of 3 eating times) seems like a winning combination...

How has the last month been for you @InfiniteSheldon @Pebbleinthesand @superstar84 (and anyone else I've missed)?
