SW and toilet habits - sorry if tmi!

Ok sorry in advance if this is tmi and I'm not the poo troll but wondering if anyone else has experienced toileting issues with the sw diet.

I joined last summer after feeling particularly fat on the beach on a summer holiday in Spain. I lost nearly two stone between then and Christmas. My bowel habits remained normal (for me) during this first six months. Over Christmas I had about a month off and regained a bit of weight by basically eating whatever I fancied. During this time I noticed my bowel habits becoming a lot more regular (at least daily, sometimes a few times a day) and I was producing really large (sorry!!) movements with some urgency. Not abnormal as such but notably different to me. During this time I also experienced a few bouts of severe cramping and diarrhoea.

I got back on plan after Christmas and these seemed to stop. Now I've gone the other way and am finding I'm quite constipated- occasionally going 3-4 days without a movement. Can all this really be down to a sw diet or could there be more going on? I've seen my gp and will be going for blood tests next week but I know they will ask me about diet and I don't know if sw can impact on this sort of stuff? Anyone experienced similar?

Are you eating enough fibre?

Possibly not :/ but then I didn't before and things have never been like this. It just seems like a lot of different bowel changes in a short amount of time

Pressed post by accident!
Are you drinking enough water?
I'm not sure what the sw diet is since they changed it from red and green days!

It's essentially just lots of fresh food, rice, potatoes, pasta - the odd treat but an emphasis on speed food and low fat options. I didn't think it would be enough to make such big changes!!

I noticed bowel changes when I did SW because I stopped having wheatabix for breakfast. Felt it was a waste of healthy A and B in one fell swoop. Returned to having wheatabix twice a week and everything went back to normal.

If I go off plan, even just one meal that's usually been cooked in oil or fat I will get the worst cramps and can't leave the toilet so more than likely the change in your diet over Christmas that caused it.
On another note I've also been constipated while healthy eating (wasn't slimming world) and I was told I wasn't eating enough fiber and was given fiber gel by the DR to help things along, so see your GP if it becomes an ongoing issue, in the meantime make sure you eat your HEXB every day, ensure you drink plenty of water and fresh veggies and fruit.

See I usually use my hexB for cereal bars. I've stopped having brown bread as I don't like it. I still have veggies quite regularly. No idea what's going on but it's now been 4 days since my last proper movement and I'm feeling incredibly uncomfortable 😣

I reckon it’s fibre - when I don’t have Weetabix for breakfast I’m stuffed - literally!!!!

Mine really changed. They are more sorted now that I am at target. What I did was upped fruit with high fibre and found that helped.

My habits have changed too. I've gone from every morning like clockwork (I'm convinced my large morning coffee laden with milk and sugar helped this) to once every couple of days, often with some difficulty. Luckily I'm often blessed with a visit from the poo-fairy on the day of weigh in though so I guess it's not all bad news!

@beckywiththeshithair33 I use cereal bars as hexb too and never had an issue. How are things now?

The way I k ow I'm doing SW properly is when. I get constipated- despite all the fruit and veg

I had the constipation problem as well when I was doing SW and the solution for me was to use my hexb for chia seeds. Every day I would have chia seeds and plenty of water and I got very regular in no time. It's not good to be constipated, so you shouldn't be. You lose more weight of you are regular too lol.
