Exercise slowing losses?

I'm due to get weighed this morning but have had a quick step on my own scales which are 1/4 off slimming world scales. It's saying I have put weight on even though I've stuck to plan completely the only thing I've done differently is walked a lot this week and also done ring fit adventure as a form of exercise. I hate the thought of going to group and gaining weight and really now don't want to go this morning. Has exercise slowed your losses down?

Yes it has done before, I think it's due to losing fat but gaining muscle. After a few weeks I started to get losses again

It's a good idea to take measurements of your hips, waist etc so you can see the results otherwise it can be quite disheartening

Yes very disappointed today. I did end up have a loss of 1 lb but a loss is a loss. I'll carry on for a few weeks and if no change I'll stop till I'm near my target x

Don't be put off exercising - it will just be a bit of inflammation from achy muscles! That will go away as you exercise more regularly.
Exercise might make you more hungry though so just be aware to continue to track your food

@hazelnutlatte I've done an hour of ring fit this afternoon which on my Fitbit has tracked as cardio. Should I be aiming for just the fat burn or cardio too for best results?

I don't think it matters, you will get benefits from any form of exercise. The key is not to overcompensate with extra calories - you will burn less calories than you think!
Not sure what ring fit but if you enjoy it then do it

I have a Fitbit so use that as a guide of what I've burnt in a day x

For me, I tend not to drink enough or eat enough protein post exercise to help repair the muscles. So the water clings on. When I make a conscious effort I do see losses or maintains x

@Groovee I'm drinking 3 litres of water a day at minimum currently. I've tried not to over do it this week. I could barley sit down last week I had hurt my muscles that much x

Are you eating a high protein snack post exercise?

I normally just eat a banana after

If you eat protein post exercise it helps to repair the muscles post exercise stopping them cling on to water. Or something like that. I have fibromyalgia so I'm in pain anyway but eating protein snacks really helps me post exercise.

That's interesting groovee. I've just started slimming world again and was a bit disappointed in my loss this week (first week). Whilst it was probably down to a meal out the day before weigh in, the consultant mentioned something about when you start exercise there can be fluid on muscles which aren't used to being used and I did wonder about this as I've also just started Pilates and my muscles were really aching. I'll try extra water and a protein snack next week.
