As we are moving into a new year, I thought we should start a new thread. Everyone is welcome to join who is following the SW plan.

I'm Groovee. Joined my local group in January 2017. Had lost a stone at that point in 6 months. Then took 14 months to lose 4.5st and have been at target since March 2018. I've bumbled my way through target since then. Still attend group regularly as I need the accountability. I'm still learning new things all the time.

Look forward to chatting. As I'm at the top of my target, I want to lose at least 5lb in by February.

Hello!
I joined SW for the umpteenth time last January and lost 3 1/2 stones. The first few months were plain sailing but since August I’ve been up and down like a yo yo. I suspect that’s because I’m so pleased with how I look and feel that the motivation to keep going has lessened. At my last weigh in I had gained half a stone because I had been ill and then had family celebrations, I am hoping this week to post a loss! In previous years I had lost up to a stone and then given up. I don’t quite know how I have managed to keep at it for so long this time.
Anyway I want to get to goal this year, I’d like to lose 10kg in the next 3 months, it’s obvious I need extra support so I am hoping this thread will help me with this.
Hoping for a successful 2020

Hi I returned to sw on Monday and I’m starting properly tomorrow following all the festivities!! I turn 40 this year and would like to get 5 stone off by December minimum. I’m hoping having a target like this will spur me on....

I've started today. 100% on plan. Weigh in is back to Tuesday evening. I'm at the top of target so definitely need a loss as I don't want to have to pay.

@Wanderlustnearorfar that's a good idea. I get loads of meal ideas by following other SW members on Instagram and great motivation. X

@Groovee do you ever have a day of very low syns if you've been off plan the day before? Not sure if that's allowed or if you have to use at least 5 syns?

Hi all. I'm new - I know the local group isn't helpful to me so I'm going to try and go it alone online. I have been a member millions of times but always lose a bit and give up. However, things are different this time and I am determined for long term change. I didn't want to follow a plan, but I think I need the structure. I still have books from June. This time I would like to lose weight but my main motivator is to improve my health as this year has been dreadful and it has reached the point where I have to look after myself much better than I have been.

Hello! Can I join?

I’ve been reading the support threads since I rejoined in June 2019. I was 3.5 pounds off my target at the pre Christmas weigh in but have been off plan since December 20 so pretty sure I’ll be 7 pound away now at least. Im going back on plan tomorrow and I weigh in again next Wednesday.

Hoping by posting here I’ll have some accountability. I’ve never made it to target before so I’m determined this time!

Hello, can I join? I'm a complete SW virgin and have never been to a diet club before - when I have needed to shift a stone or two before I have always successfully low carbed. Now I feel I need a way of eating that fits more with the whole family so I don't end up cooking two different meals every night.

I'm a little bit sceptical about SW at this stage because I can't see how I'm not going to be hungry all the time, but have seen so many other people do it successfully I'm ready to have a go.

I would like to lose nearly two stone in an ideal world but that would take me to the weight I was at my wedding 20 years ago so probably not realistic!

Hi I've been messing about with Sw for the lady year so I rejoined a week ago for a fresh start. I weighed this morning and I've lost 5lbs which I'm chuffed about.

@Whistle73 I started in November and honestly there has been one day where I was hungry at beginning. You get to eat so much, I now feel fuller quicker and really enjoy the plan. I've lost 1 stone 2 and a half pounds since then. You can do it.

@troppibambini that's brilliant!

@MotherOfLittlePeople - that's just what I needed to hear - I'm thinking to sign up to the 12 weeks and if all goes well I could be at target by then!

MotherOfLittlePeople · 02/01/2020 12:52

@Whistle73 I think the 12 week countdowns are cheaper as well but don't quote me on that. I think there is also a free membership in woman magazine. Sure I saw it advertised on a slimming Facebook group x

@MotherOfLittlePeople I use flexible syns to be off plan then have at least 5 syns a day. I went through a stage of only using 5 syns and not losing well. A friend told me to up and change my syns and lost 3.5lbs that week. Couldn't believe it. So I always aim for 7/10 syns.

My pudding today is high in syns but that is the only thing that will be the high thing. My roast dinner is free as no gravy.

Will get making soup later as that helps with my losses and lots of speed x

@Whistle73 if you are hungry at any point, look at your protein in take. I find when I'm hungry it tends to be protein or not enough fluids. But I rarely feel hungry that makes me think I am on a diet.

Weigh in today, I lost 4lbs! Am so pleased to have got back in the zone again. Ideally I’d like to lose 2 stones, that would take me to somewhere I haven’t been since my 20s, 30 odd years ago.
It seems so close now, it seemed like a fantastical target when I started.
Good luck to everyone restarting or going for the first time.

Hello. I joined SW in August 2019 and so far have lost 19lbs. I hope to lose the same again and I'm aiming for a pound a week which means I could reach my target weight by end April (going on holiday to Spain).

Over Christmas I managed to gain only 1/2lb which I'm delighted about. Unusually I didn't write anything down (food diaries really help me) but kept booze n chocolate to a minimum.

I'm also determined to buy no more new clothes (a) as I have loads already that I love, currently don't fit but will, (b) will look in second hand shops for vintage which I could have altered.

When I'm at goal I will treat myself to an Hermes scarf which will probably cost less than any new clothes I'd be buying because none of my nice stuff fits

Hi, I would love to join for help with my SW journey! I actually did SW a few years ago when my DC were very small and lost the baby weight, but have since put it back on with a bit extra Blush

Planning to start properly on Monday when DP is back at work and the DC are back at nursery. Meal prep has gone out of the window at the moment!

Hello everyone, I’ve been at SW a couple of times and it works well for me when my head’s in the right place. It became very inconvenient to go and I’ve just been going up and up in weight so I’m now making the effort to rejoin and go again from Saturday. Fingers crossed!

Hi Everyone, going to give SW a go again after falling spectacularly off the wagon over the last three or four months. Initially I wanted to lose 2 stone but now probably more like 3. Have found it very difficult to stay the distance the last few times I tried. I'm putting all the leftover wine in the attic today and clearing out the fridge for a big shop. Good luck everyone!! Hi all!

I first joined Slimming world in July and lost nearly 2 stone between July and November, and then had hip surgery in November and managed to put it all back on !

Rejoining group tomorrow... so hoping all goes well 💪🏻

Has anyone got any breakfast ideas? Before I used to just stick to yoghurt and fruit but fancy mixing things up this time. Thanks!

I have been doing SW for a while and lost just over 2 stone. However, thanks to severe anxiety I didn't make it to group for the last 3 months and know I've put some of that back on.
Going to join online Monday as I still struggle dealing with people. Already started some meal planning so I can get straight on it when I am back home on the weekend.
