I'm 2 days in and feel like I'm eating an awful lot! Following the guidelines but terrified that I've got it all wrong as I can't believe how much I can actually eat! Does everyone else feel like that? I thought I would be deprived of all things nice and it appears that I am not...I haven't felt starving and seem to be eating endless amounts....I do hope that I don't fail at my first weigh inConfused

You do get to eat a lot with Slimming World, unless it's changed it's about food optimisation rather than starvation!

You'll know for sure when you get weighed. Have you tried their sin-free cookbooks? Although you're "allowed" a certain number of sins, I've always tried to eat as much sin-free as possible rather than eat as many sins as possible.

Good luck!

That’s what I like about SW......you can eat!

Just don’t bulk up with too many carbs. Eat lots of fruit and vegetables and salad.

Don't bother. Seriously, it is an evil hun-worshipping cult. I have been doing it for 2 years. I lost 1.5 stones then put it all back on again with constant group support. Because obviously the consultant who had been on a 2 week training brainwashing exercise at HQ knew far more about my metabolism than my underlying metabolic disorder......anyhow, whatever your views or persuasion, seriously, it is a pyramid money making scheme for the consultants. Yes it does work, but you have to stick with it, and it makes no allowances for the real reasons most of us gain weight - psychological or emotional eating. When you hit that wall your consultant will simply look at you and say "well, ohherewegoagain, but how much do you REALLY WANT TO LOSE WEIGHT?" stop thinking about your children, your job, your worries, your dysfunctional relationship or the state of the planet or world politics....in fact forget everything and walk into Asda every week like a zombie asking "where can I find the muller lites, hun?"
for a change, in alternate weeks, you may like to fall by the wayside, then post an inspiring pic of your pallid Iceland frozen SW endorsed meal on your local facebook page with the headline "I am back on it this week!". Seriously , I have had it, as you can probably tell. I suspect I will have more success with crossing the channel and persuading Mr Trump to forget the laydees and get some morals...

Maybe you were unlucky with your consultant. My consultant is really good, supportive, and understands the psychological aspect of gaining weight. Also, sometimes you have to make adjustments to your life to try to counteract the psychological pull of overeating. I tend to binge, so made changes such as changing the timing of my meals, and not buying certain foods that might tempt me.

Thing is ohherewdgoagain - no diet will carry on working if you stop doing it! Keto, slimfast, weight watchers, whatever - if you go back to eating the way you were before and don’t make it a change for life you WILL of course put all the weight back on.

It pisses me off too that I can’t eat loads of chocolate, biscuits etc. But I’ve had to accept that if I want to stay a size 12 I need to stick to a certain amount of calories a day. I have blips and put a bit on and then I get back on it and lose it again. It’s a constant juggling act. That’s life!

Hi there I’ve just started Sw on referral by my gp. Although I have lost 1/2 st in 3 weeks I’m finding it really difficult to do as I am a Renal patient and am restricted to how much protein fruit and veg I can have. Anybody out that can help me

I remember one year just after Christmas when most of us (at SW) had gained. My friend lost a whopping amount that week. She lived on buckwheat so I suppose that was filling!!!

Pinchofnom is a great resource for recipes and Pinterest.
I think slimming world is great but you do have to follow it quite strictly. I lost 2.5 stone of baby weight and managed to keep it off not following the regime after (however I don't have that unhealthy diet or lots of treats anyway) but not everyone can do that and need some sort of structure.

Good luck!!

If you got rid of the Slimming World title, it basically a low fat, low sugar way of eating, with your ‘5 a day’ ( or more) and some slow release carbs .I am guilty of eating crappy things like Seafood Sticks in between meals...but I suppose there are worse things in life.

Like other have said, it only works if you stick to it, but that’s the same with any diet....oops, sorry...’way of eating’!

I am going to give it a go.My consultant is lovely and I am in a very small group (10 of us) which works for me.Good luck!xxxx

Just make sure that 1/3 of every plate is speed food and that only 1/3 is carbs and the other 1/3 is protein.

Lots of people make the mistake of eating as many carbs as they want.

I felt like that at the start! The aim is not to be hungry, but not just to eat for the sake of it. Make sure you eat plenty of veg and you'll do well.

Congratulations on your first two days!
