Weigh in etiquette question

Question: just went to weigh in. Was talking with my pal that we have new weigh people since the start of the year and they are loudly saying what you gained or lost. Which I don't think they should do. In the three other groups I have been to, they just mark it down, say well done or whatever. I weighed in, she said: "that's one on" and I told her that I would appreciate it if she didn't say it out loud. She and the bint next to her said, well then you have to write it in the top of your book by the weigh page. I said, no, you just shouldn't do it for anyone. That's why there is a screen by the scales and there is a box over the number reader so that no one can see your weight. What is the point of all that if they are shouting out gains and losses???? I didn't stay to group.

What is your experiences? How do they do it in your group?

We get told how much gain or loss in my group but discretely so only the person weighing in would hear, if someone didn't want to know they would just have to say to the people on the weigh in desk before stepping on the scales. The consultant mentions the gains and losses in the group anyway, and I don't think they're breaking any rules as long as they're not loudly announcing the actual weights to anyone. I like being told so I don't have to look in my book later to see if it was good or not.

I do weigh ins at my group, I'll say whether it's a gain or a loss (unless they already know cos they look at their book before weighing) but I do it quietly so only they can hear. Some don't want to know and they announce that before they hop on the scale.

I weigh people at my group and say it quietly. What gets on my goat is people pushing forward and not giving space to the person being weighed.

At my group they just write it down and don’t say anything unless you ask. The consultant will then say how much people have lost but if there’s a gain she doesn’t say how much, so it’s up to the individual to share how much they’ve gained if they want to (most don’t). I wouldn’t be happy with the weigh ladies loudly saying how much I had gained.

At my group they always say it but it's just me that can hear, they don't shout it.

They saying at our group.

But people give you space to weigh in so, it's not an issue.

I was told you dont say the person weight loss/gain. The person doing the weigh-in only says it if the person asks. I sat in on the weigh-in side of things and only the person writing in the book would speak, normally like well done or well done for getting weighed (if they have gained/maintained). I would take this up with your consultant, if they dont listen to you take it up with SW head office.
