Any September starters?

I'm on holiday this week so taking the plunge on Monday. I've got about 1.5 stone to get me back to target (lost 3.5 stone 3 years ago and kept it off for 3 years!). Anyone want to join me staying on track?

Can I join you as a restarter? I follow online and had lost a stone, but have plateaued over the last few weeks.

I need to lose another stone.

My problem is lunches for work, I never seem to be organised enough to have easy food - I have a limited lunch break.

Well done on your previous weight loss - keeping it off is the hardest part.

I signed up yesterday! I would like to lose at least 2 stone, first time on SW. I did have some success with WW ProPoints previously but have seen a lot of friends doing well with SW recently so thought I'd take the plunge.

I'll say yes but I know what I'm like 😩 I've tried starting loads of times. I will use the weekend to get organised I think. So count me in (I hope!)

Shall we make a list and share some recipe ideas? I do mostly sp so fairly low carb for me.

So far on my list

Carrots, celery, cucumber to dip in houmus / cottage cheese
Spinach frittata - I have bought some mini silicone cake cases so plan to make them in there for packed lunches.
Will boil some eggs for lunches - easy to eat on the go.
Homemade felafel

I'm loving cauliflower rice, it's so filling and adds to my veg intake. I have egg fried cauliflower rice with tofu, and cauli rice with butternut, chickpea and spinach curry.

Baked sweet potatoes are great with taco beans.

I think being organised is so important, and also treating yourself - my treat is fresh berries and nectarines - I pay more for the ripe ones.

I also have small goal - so for example I have been to a few parties over the summer and I aim for a certain loss by each one. I am going away in 6 weeks, so aiming for 1/2 stone. Just whittling away bit by bit.

What hummus do you buy? Or do you homemake it? I struggled to find syn values on hummus and have tried making my own with varying results. Interested to know.

Spinach frittata is a great idea, as is the silicone cupcake things. Keen to do those too.

I count houmous as a healthy extra, that might be out of date as I first did sw 100 years ago. Will check.

You can make sun free hummus with minced garlic & lots of lemon juice (google sw hummus it's not too bad and syn free).

My go-to recipes for dinner are:
roasted veg with couscous and fish
Bolognese with spaghetti & salad or turned into huntsman pie (add baked beans & top with sliced potatoes bake until soft & brown)
Boulangere potatoes (layers of finely sliced potatoes & onions with garlic and cooked in an inch of chicken stock) lively with any fish or meat plus veg

Breakfast I'll either have Weetabix as a HEB, 'fry-up' or mushrooms & courgette in toast

Lunch tends to be either omelette & salad or big salad with boiled egg/chicken or super speed soup (on its own or over jacket potatoes and/or add curry powder for interest)
Will have to dig out my old books when I'm home for more recipes as I founds loads that worked for family meals, quick lunches etc

I know what you mean Slim

I'm starting again on Monday so maybe this thread will help keep me on track. I'm getting married in June 2020 and have like 6 stone to lose so I've got a long hard road ahead but I NEED to do this. I refuse to be a fat bride she says shoving celebrations and quavers in to her mouth

I’m signing up again tomorrow night, started a couple of years ago then got pregnant with DD and never went back. Weight and eating now out of control. First target is 2st but will likely go for another 2 after that so 4st in total. Going to try and aim for 2st by Christmas.

I struggle with lunches as well, breakfast was fine with yogurt and fruit or baked oats. Dinner usually fine anyway but lunches are the worst.

So weighed in today and have lost 2 1/2 this week, so back on track. I did the weight visualiser from another thread and that has really helped focus me this week.

Busy day today so scrambled egg and mushrooms for brunch, then Moroccan quinoa with lots of salad for dinner.

Senttothesynbyn well done that's fantastic. I'll weigh next week on Monday morning and start properly then. Currently eating up stuff from my freezer so that I can batch cook and have all slimming world friendly stuff in the freezer ready for long working hours.
What is the weight visualiser please? That sounds interesting. Is it where you measure parts of your body with a tape measurer?

Thanks slim. Have spent the summer guzzling crisps and wine, but back on track now.

This is where you put your weight, height and body shape and it shows what you will look like at your target weight.

Can I join please?
I am restarting next Tuesday, well I am motivated this time, although have been going for a long time without actually dieting.

I lost 3.5 stone a few years ago and kept it off until my lovely mum died and have slowly put it back on even though I go to SW every week. My attendance is more for routine and habit.

Most of that weight gain is through grief but that’s no excuse really. Anyway, I have had the summer holidays away from group and my eating has been obscene and as a result I feel really ill and bloated so enough is enough....

I have 2.5 stone to lose.

Anyone else thinking no one will ever speak to them again...the amount of garlic used in recipes makes me worry i will have a green dog surrounding me 😂

That weight visual thing is amazing. Thanks for that.

Hey like you say... tomorrow is another day!

I'm looking forward to starting tomorrow. I've just made some homemade soup. I'll have it for lunch tomorrow and Tuesday and freeze 2 portions. I haven't had soup for ages with is being summer but I really fancied some. Breakfast I will probably have 2x weetabix with skimmed milk. I'll take some fruit for snacks and some chicken bites. Dinner is yet to be decided.

I've just had a Tesco delivery with loads of easy stuff for lunches as I have a busy week ahead. I am going to make mini frittatas as I've tried to boil eggs in advance and the teens keep scoffing them Hmm

@chris that’s really good to maintain so well! Good luck to all! When is weigh in day? Mine is Wednesday

Report
MynameisJune · 02/09/2018 19:52

Weigh in day is Thursday for me.

I’ve not had a bad weekend, today hasn’t been 100% on plan but we have walked 7miles today mainly pushing a toddler in a buggy so I don’t feel too bad.

I’m already starting to feel better in myself and it’s only been three days. I always forget that eating rubbish makes me feel rubbish and it’s a vicious cycle.

Please can I join? Joining SW tomorrow, was doing it before I got pregnant but then stopped. Need to get this baby weight off and feel better about myself!

babysharksmummy · 02/09/2018 21:52

Me! Started Thursday but technically tomorrow (it was by birthday Saturday)
So going to Monday classes and going to stay 100 percent on plan. Just over three stone to lose.

Oldowl · 02/09/2018 22:03

I started SW for the first time on 4th Sept last year after a 4 year old asked if I had a baby in my tummy!

I lost 2 stone to hit target (9st 12) and still attend group - to maintain and socially it is a great group.

Good luck to all the September starters. I was you last year... remember, nothing tastes as good as slim feels. x
