Yes I'm in! I have been on plan since 1st July and I am still continuing to do so. Even if I am going out for lunch that has to be off plan, I will be making better choices. But so far, so good!

Weekend is always my biggest downfall but I have prepared hunters chicken to slow cook all day tomorrow, ready for work at the weekend so I will not be tempted to go off plan as it'll be filling with a side salad.

Let's do this everyone! Grin

Afternopn all. Can i hop on? I joined the june thread then realised its july Confused

I want to loose 3 stone, im going away for NYE and am determined to get on that plane a size 10 (currently a size 16) I started 2 weeks ago and weigh in for me is a Saturday.
I flexi syn over the weekend so i can have a drink (im single so drink and eat out a bit at weekends). Im strict about counting each syn though. Then whatever is left out of my weekly 70 i use over the remaining weekdays.
I lost 4lb the first week and was delighted to loose 3 and get my half a stone on the 2nd weigh in. I do use the books but dont go to the classes.
Ive been on plan all week but i did have 5 peanuts sunday lol.
I feel really bloated today though so not sure ill loose. I think ill cry if i dont ha ha.

I have started again this month, but on my own! Groups are not convenient time for me anymore and online is ridiculously expensive.

It is hard finding syn values though without the app but still doesn't justify the cost of online membership.

I paid for one week to get the books lol. I dont find the groups helpful, i hated going to them.

alittlebit I started the June thread and even I gave up 😣 I don't think my head was in it enough. I was constantly lying to myself and not counting syns properly. I also wasn't fully following it which didn't help. My head is in the game now though.
I started back on Sunday (so the 1st but wasn't planned that way) and am pleased to say I've done 4 full days on plan and hope not to fail today.
I'm actually enjoying it. I'm planning better and not just saving syns for chocolate or crisps. I'm using syns for salad dressing, a yummy yoghurt and gravy etc... otherwise I feel like my food is bland. I think this is where I've gone wrong in the past. I've had salads for lunch this week and feeling full up. I do have a couple of evening small treats but I don't go silly and have them for the sake of it.
I've also been running early and it's setting me up for the day. I've bought a little diary to fill out as well. I think the visual will help.
I've never been to a class, I work so much and am often away at weekends so it's not convenient. I paid for online before but have never properly stick to it (don't think I've done a fill week before!) I printed the general list previously.
There are some websites which help loads.
Fatgirlskinny, slimming world survival and pinch of nom are 3 great websites. I get mixed up between them all but at least one of them has shopping lists for asda, Aldi, Tesco etc.... with all syn values. They are fab resources.
Also if you're on Instagram you can search like I did #asdabubblie and it brought up other people who had posted about it and people sometimes put syn values.
I'm really on it this time. Writing everything down!

I have just signed up for another 3 months online, sick of farting around and need to get back on track!!!

Slimtime i agree its all in the head. I found that last time. Unless your 100% committed its so hard. You know youre not following it which pisses you off so you cheat more lol.
I also keep a food diary, i print off sheets at work then write down my weight change that week so further down the line if i have a bad week i can look over them.
I dont find the groups helpful and as i want to make this a change of lifestyle to keep it off, i thought unless i go group for the rest of my life just to maintain i have to do this by myself, although the threads do help.
I love a pinch of nom, im obsessed with their hash brown recipie and made it for dinner last night with added bacon and onion. I also make sure i walk halfway to work and back, so this works out at just under 5 miles a day, but might join a gym once i shift a stone or so.
My head is defo in the zone so to speak, that being said i was starving last night and had larger than i wouldve liked dinner portions. It was all free and super free but i feel all fat and bloated this morning so not sure if ill loose this saturday.
I flexi syn over the weekend as i socialise a bit but i syn everything and then split the remaining syns over the week for things like gravy or the odd hi fi bar (or chocolate flavoured coconut milk which is delish).
It works for me as i like to be able to drink if i go out and i want to get out of the habbit of daily treats (chocolate or wine) anyway.

I signed up on Monday. Joined october 2016 lost 3 and half stone and stopped going last may. Have put a stone back on so I definitely need to lose that and another few i think. I've had a couple of half hearted attempts since I stopped going last time and have tried calorie counting and low carb in between but nothing seems to work as well for me as slimming world. Having a good week so far, I work 3 days a week at the end of the week so have had plenty of opportunity to do some advance prep so I don't cock up on my long shifts .
I've never stayed to group and after meeting the new leader of the group i don't think that will change! Good luck everyone!

So weigh in this morning.
The bloating must be phscological as ive dropped 2lb. Im happy with that. Anyone else weighed in today?

Report
Slimtimeagain · 07/07/2018 12:24

Well done that is great 😊
I will weigh on Monday. I don't feel any lighter but I feel better in myself for not snacking so much. If I can do today on plan then that is 7 days on plan which I'm sure I've never done before. Today will be a test as I've got plans which involve eating in mc Donalds but going to try and make good choices there. I'm currently on 1.5 syns.

ALittleBitConfused1 · 07/07/2018 14:04

Well done.
Have you tried flexi syning. I know some advise not to but ive always done it and still lost.
I get weighed on a sat morn so after weigh in i gove myself my whole weeks syns to use over the weekend (never use them all) then i can have a treat and a drink on a sat/sun afternoon. I usually use around 40. Then, come monday, whatever is left i split over the remaining days but try and eat syn fred. Works for me and means im not having daily treats (habit im trying to get out of) and means i can go out for food or drinks with friends and be confident im still going to have a good week.

Can I join too please Grin

I really need to get my shit together and it starts tomorrow. I lost 2.5 stone quite a few years ago and kept it off. Due to personal circumstances I’ve put on 3 stone in the last 3 years. I’ve managed to lose some and put it back on again over the past 12 months. But I’m now my heaviest ever (this includes during my pregnancy) so I’m taking the bull by the horns.

I know SW works for me so I’ll be sticking to that. I hate the group meetings (I have anxiety that kicks in when I’m talking in a large group), plus the times and days are a pain in the arse to get to.

So tomorrow’s the day! First weigh in, in the morning, then it’s all systems go

TantricTwist · 09/07/2018 10:12

I'd like to join too please.

One of my friends has lost so much weight on the SW plan and now another friend has followed and lost 2 stone so far.

So now it's time for me. I joined SW years ago but didn't stick to it as the meetings were really inconvenient.
It's all changed a bit since then when I went it was red and green days.

I've gone online and done my homework as to what to eat and not eat. And looking up syns seems to be quite easy if you just google them.
I've got a list of free food choices and Healthy A and B so I'm prepared.

I just need my hand holding through it and to go through it with others like yourselves. I am currently a size 16 but I feel larger than that.

I was in Town with my DD yesterday and caught my reflection in a full length mirror. I was pretty shocked actually at just how large I looked compared to everyone else around me. In my head I genuinely thought I looked slimmer.

I'm pleased we can eat potatoes and rice although I plan to avoid pasta for the time being. Shame about the bread although I will still have my sandwiches for lunch with meat and salad stuff.

I currently have the day off and am feeling hungry and actually have no idea what I could be eating right now so I'm off to investigate so meal plans.

What are your best quick and easy go to meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner?

I've just popped to have a peek at the June starter thread and they have some meal ideas which is very helpful for me.

Right so for breakfast I will have (I feel I need to write this down otherwise I dont feel like I'm following the plan properly) Feel free to comment in any way shape of form.

35g of kellogs branflakes with milk
Coffee x 2 with sweetners and milk

Lunch I will cook an omelette with 3 eggs with cooked frozen spinach and frozen leeks

Dinner I will be having pasta with bolognese sauce cooked ages ago and is defrosting.
Apparently mince is free if under 5% fat, is that right? Not sure this mince is but it'll do for today, plus I always drain the fat off.

Hello all,
I'm just starting today, I need to lose around 2 1/2 stone. I hate going out, hate the way I look but my friends have done SW. I've done it for a few weeks before and lost 2lbs a week eating more carbs than I'd ever eaten which is just what I need to do again. Thank you tantric twist, I need meal ideas and help with syns etc as also doing it alone. Fingers crossed for us all

Had my first weigh in today and I have lost 8lb this week so pleased with that. I know sugar free fizzy drinks are.allowed but I.have something of an addiction so ive cut them out completely which I think has.made a massive difference.

So far I have had - (do please stop me if my meals are boring for you all)

35g of kellogs branflakes with milk ( a lot less than I normally have)
Coffee x 2 with sweetners and a dash of milk
a pear
a medium potato left over from last night.

3 eggs with cooked frozen spinach and frozen leeks cooked with frylight.

First day for me... I’ve had 40g of porridge oats, milk and 1 tsp of sweetener.
Tea and the remaining milk
Fat free yogurt
And for lunch I’ve had tuna, baked pot and salad. I’ve added salad cream so 3 subs so far today with the frozen baked pot.

Tea will be chicken breast in a bolognaise type sauce and lots of veggies.

I’ve even managed to drag my arse to the gym for 3/4 hour

I joined in January last year weighing 13st2lb and got down to 12st in about 3 months before I got bored and started slipping. I weighed myself whilst at a friend's on Sunday (We don't have scales at home) and was mortified to see I now weigh 13st 5lb... So today is the day that I've decided to start eating better and eat less crap. I love carbs, sugar, cheese and prosecco so I reckon that radically reducing my intake of those will greatly assist. So far today I've had:

Overnight oats
Approx one piece of pizza (this was my pre schoolers left overs, I clearly have little willpower)
Scrambled egg
Handful of blueberries
Handful of cheese
Handful of pasta

The last two again were from my children's tea... I need to get better at not picking at their food. We've got pasta Bolognese for tea. I plan to try and weigh in weekly. Best of luck to everyone else.

Hi all new joiners.
Blue dog and tantric its all in the planning ismt it? Im 4 weeks in and still planning meals and writting everydown. I keep a food diary for each week and then write down my weight change for that week. Im hopomg this will help me atay focused. Your day s food looks good my only advice would be to up the sp food. Have a banana or other fruit with your cereal, add a salad with your omlette and if im home and just having a sarnie for lunch i have amn open salad sarnie. Basically 2 slices of bread on a plate loaded with meat and salad on top. Eating with a knife and fork makes me feel like ive had a meal rather than just a sarnie and keeps me full for longer. Stramge i know lol.
Adding that sp food really does limit snacking for me.
Well done Sunshine, 8lb thats amazing.
Flamingo....remember to count the syns in your pizza and cheese. I was shocked how many syns are in pizza Hmm
Thankfully i dont have young children who have leftovers so i dont have to fight that temptation lol.
Would ir be worth maybe having some fruit prepeared for when they are eating their t so youre less likely to pick at their dinner

Shocking typos in my pp. That will teach me to write a post before my morning cuppa.
Ive found ive just not been as hungry this week so far, struggled to get my a and b in yesterday so had a cheese and ham salad sarnie for dinner last night and still feel full this morning. So today for me is:
B) fruit and youghur
L) chicken salad with loads of beetroot.
D) ive got a busy day today so will probably get home later so ill have a ham and egg open salad sarnie for tea (with grated cheese so thats my a&b).
Ive got a muller light and a boiled egg for snack if im peckish at work.
Ill also be walking 5 miles today (home from work) so hopefully a good day for me.
