Loose skin

Hi all

I've lost 4st 10lbs with SW since having my second DS by C Section last April.

I'm really thrilled with what I've achieved and so far have managed to keep it off (only got to target in December, mind). But I have a very saggy, wrinkled belly and I just don't know how to get rid of it. It hangs down from the belly button and just looks awful.

Does anyone know what kind of exercise would be best to help reduce it a bit? Pilates? Yoga? Etc etc.

I have MS so not a lot of energy to do high intensity exercise.

Any advice appreciated xx

I think weight/core work would be best. Not so much how many reps you do but rather the weight of them. Things like crunches, Russian twists, ball sit ups, exercises on the floor. I'm an unqualified bugger but am sure if you went to your local gym they could help you

Maybe a targeted body- firming cream would help?
Clarins do a Super Restorative body cream for abdomen and waist.
Could help you to feel better about yourself while you work on this.

@pandorawithtreaclecolouredhair I'm off to research that cream!!

Thanks for the suggestions.

Someone's also mentioned to me that there are a lot of work out videos on YouTube specifically for toning a postpartum belly 🤞🏻

Same here too. I've been advised to try Pilates, so I'm trying it. Makes your muscles cry all over but by jingo you can feel it working!

I think sometimes it can take a bit of time for skin to catch up with weight loss and you may well find that in a year's time it will have retracted a bit.

I know it's not what you want to hear but the only thing that will get rid of saggy and loose skin is cosmetic surgery. I have also had a c section 18 months ago, and I have an "overhang" as some people may call it. Firming creams are nothing but a fad. It's another way of making money! I know it's not nice, but try and embrace it. Your body has been through a lot, and you are basically treating it like a Temple now with healthy eating and healthy lifestyle. Mine does not bother me whatsoever because I've learned to accept that its a part of who I am

Unfortunately there's nothing you can do. The only thing that will get rid of it is surgery.

I also have the same problem. I had my DS via c-section in 2016 and I have lost 4st so far since May last year when I started SW and my belly is loose and there's a mummy pouch.

To be honest, it doesn't bother me. I am happy to have a pouch than be obese and potentially gain even more weight.

Just be proud of your achievements. I know for some people it is nice to look at but I find that it reminds me how far I've come and the fact we've carried and went through a really big procedure to deliver a beautiful child too!
