Starting the New Year on a positive note!!

Off to a new SW group on Monday, bloody determined to get this weight off. Partner has been hideous about my weight gain as he doesn't like 'big' women, so I'm going to do this for MY self esteem and stick two fingers up to him 😊
Anyone else starting in the New Year?

Your partner sounds like a twat

Zazu44 Fri 29-Dec-17 21:50:31

That he is thesleepsheep that he is 😊

Dozyoldtwonk Fri 29-Dec-17 22:11:38

Get rid of however much your partner weighs before you start on your own weight loss smile

Yukbuck Fri 29-Dec-17 22:53:05

Why are you letting your partner speak to you like this?

Zazu44 Fri 29-Dec-17 23:26:32

I don't know Yuckbuck, it's been gradual I guess. It's not all the time but it's the main reason our relationship is pretty crap at the moment. If a friend had said this then I would be saying the same to her, I think I just quietly carry on with life whilst not liking him too much. Jesus, what a weak woman I am. Writing it down is pretty soul destroying

I'm joining too ( again ) though it's been a couple of years.

I have fibromyalgia and am in bloody agony.
The more weight I lose the better as my pain will massively decrease.

I am the heaviest I've ever been in my life.
I'm 40 in January and am having such a panic over everything!

One of my medications made me put around 20 pounds this year. My doctor has swapped it and I'm hoping that I can find some willpower from somewhere.

I'm looking to lose around 5/6 stone in total.

My almost 15 yr old ds is really overweight and is getting depressed about it. My aim is to do this as a family.
I feel like I've failed him so badly and need to do this, good luck everyone smile

I would love this to be a support thread.

MorningstarMoon Sat 30-Dec-17 04:24:38

I will be joining 😎

I want to post 5-6 stone, group is on a Wednesday so Boom!

I get put off by the taster sessions because everyone makes such wonderful stuff and I take salad or low syn something that's pre made.

fastfrank Sat 30-Dec-17 05:36:08

Don't do it for him.

I'm off to join a meeting as well zazu. Vv nervous - horrified at my weight atm! Have been looking for a membership offer as well - was sure they normally had a voucher for £10 off. Hmm.

none of my business, but lose weight for you, not for anyone else!

Zazu44 Sat 30-Dec-17 17:34:18

Our current special offer
Join before 20th January and get free membership and two free weeks when you buy a 12 week Countdown - saving £19.90! Or pay weekly and get half-price membership - just £5 to join and £4.95 a week. That's £9.95 to pay at your first group - saving £5!

This offer is on SW website and I think there is Magazine offers too.

I am doing it for me crackedbutstillshiny, I'm horrified by my weight too but I WILL BE THINNER!
Lordsugarwillseeyounow let's make this a support thread. Weigh in Monday for me Morningstarmoon.

Will be starting on 3 Jan. DD will at her dads that week, I'm back at work so will have some routine rather than the post Christmas slump, will do a meal plan and a big shop. I don't know how much I need to lose I avoid weighing myself and getting hung up about each pound lost or gained. Once I can fit into my favourite dresses I'll know I've done well!
Would love to have a support thread to share ideas, tips and recipes.

Zazu44 Sat 30-Dec-17 21:43:15

bonfireheart are you doing it on your own or going to group?

Oly5 Sat 30-Dec-17 21:54:12

I’m going to a group next week. Have 2st 10lb of baby weight to shift

bonfireheart Sat 30-Dec-17 21:58:03

I don't have time to go to class and my introvert personality avoids unnecessary group situations! I have all the books from when my sister did it, I also bought some books online and a big stock of the SW magazines. There's lots of info online. What about you?

Zazu44 Sat 30-Dec-17 22:05:56

I'm going to a group on a Monday and I'm going to make myself stay instead of weigh and go which is what I used to do. They're not my favourite places but I'm hoping this is a fun group that will help me stick to it..... also signed up for C25K!!!!!
Oly5 I'd like to lose around 2 - 2 1/2 st. Good luck all.

meandmytinfoilhat Sat 30-Dec-17 22:57:46

I need to re join.

Ohyesiam Sat 30-Dec-17 23:27:12

Lose an instant 10 stone by getting rid of your partner.

fraggle84 Sun 31-Dec-17 08:00:51

*lordsugar if you go to group as for a free2go booklet, it’s designed for teens and full of useful tips

thesleepsheep Sun 31-Dec-17 11:22:45

I've been doing it since October. I'm 1.5st down. It would be more but I also

thesleepsheep Sun 31-Dec-17 11:23:05

...allow myself cheat days! X

Ymamiss Sun 31-Dec-17 12:07:03

I am joining tomorrow, my present to myself is a 12 week countdown... I need to lose 1 and a half stones to get to 9 stone 7. I’m sick of covering up in loose clothes because of a lack of confidence. I WILL do this x

LollipopViolet Sun 31-Dec-17 12:53:12

Been doing it for about 18 months and am2 stone down, but I fall off the wagon quite a bit blush

I’ll be weighing in tomorrow so hoping you all have a nice first group experience smile If one group isn’t for you, don’t be afraid to try others.

LordSugar when you go to your group, ask the consultant about Free2Go for your DS. If he wants to, he can attend class with you for free. The emphasis for him wouldn’t be on losing weight specifically, it’s mkre about making better choices.

Good luck everyone smile

Itsfrigginmexxx Sun 31-Dec-17 15:16:18

Groovee Sun 31-Dec-17 17:01:47

I've lost 4st in 2017... my aim is to be at target by Valentine's Day! So weigh in on Wednesday this week then back to Tuesday the following week. We have a new consultant starting. Will be feeling nervous like I always do...
