I'm so disheartened(7 Posts)
That’s just it really, I am feeling so disheartened. I have a breastfed 10 month old who has been-- a little shit-- extremely challenging this week. She’s been ill, clingy, off her solids and Boobing like a newborn and my appetite has rocketed. I have stuck to plan (this is my second week) and I struggle to use my daily A and B options.... well except for the fact that on 3 hours sleep a night I have eaten puff pastry pinwheels I made for the baby, homemade peanut butter chic chip cookies I made for a friend and I worked out as 10 syns each, orange juice out the carton and handfuls of my husband’s beef jerky. Because apples bananas and grapes just aren’t helping with my bone aching energy zapping exhaustion.
So this week, week 2, I stayed the same. I’m relieved I haven’t gained despite all the crap
I’ve put away and disappointed I haven’t lost because I have missed out of some lovely treats. I am so so tired and really disheartened.
Does anyone have anything filling and snacks I can make?
If you're not using your B option elsewhere, how about a batch of baked oats (40g oats, muller light or equivalent fat free natural yoghurt, egg; mix and bake for approx 20mins or until cooked)? Slice them up and have them through the day - some people add things like choc shot or options hot choc for low syn flavour boosts.
Soup really fills me up - have been lazy this week and bought the bags of soup mix (diced veg) from Tesco - chuck in pan, add stock, boil 30m, blend and presto leek and potato soup! Sprinkle grated cheese over if you have your healthy A to use.
Sympathies, this is really really hard when you're not being allowed to sleep
What things would you like to use your A & B on? I tend to have porridge or weetabix some days. Other days I use porridge oats to make baked oats. I occasionally have bread for eggy bread or beans on toast.
I find the grab and go cheeses like babybel or cathedral city lighter work better for me.
I snack on melon, strawberries or other easy to grab fruits.

Yes, perhaps something like baked oats in the pantry would save me some sabotaging behaviours and making soup won’t hurt either!
If you make a bit pot of speedy soup you could freeze it for day when you are struggling to get time to cook.
Baked oat muffins are yummy and feel like a treat.
I like to use one of the healthy goodness porridge packs if I have one, that way you don't need any extra sweetener.
1 pack healthy goodness porridge like acai and apple
Half a vanilla muller light
Tsp vanilla essence
1/2 a carrot blitzed or grated
Mixed spice, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg to taste (I like quite a lot)
A few frozen berries (technically to be syned as cooked but I don't if I would have served on the side anyway)
1/2 banana (as with the berries)
Blitz together and bake in silicon cup cake cases. This will make at least 6.
As I've got kids I normally double the recipe as they love them. 6 is a healthy B or 1 syn each if not.
I've heard they freeze well, but my kids never leave enough for us to find out 😀
I made soup at the weekend and it's been fabulous for me all week plus it's filling, try that
