Hi

I joined last week. First time I have done SW. Anyone want to join me?

I weighed in (Tue) at 11 st 12.5lb (5'7" tall). I set my target for 1 stone, but would really like to get back down to 10 stone. Not sure this is doable before Christmas.

I started a new job 2 years a go and have put on 2 stone.

I am amazed how much free food their is. I don't think I have eaten so much fruit, veg or eggs in years!

Today I have had:

Breakfast: Branflakes and milk
Mid morning: A banana and 6 strawberies
Lunch: Rocket, sweet potato and feta salad with an ostrich steak (2 for £4.49 from Lidl, 157 cals and 2% fat), fat free yoghurt.

(Never had an ostrich steak before, it was delicious. It was in a Moroccan marinade)

Will probably have an omelette for tea.

Hi I joined last week too. It's taking me a while to get the swing of it. I started off at 12.13 although I think that was a false start as it was off the back of my holiday where I ate my bodyweight in cake! I want to go down to 10 1/2.

May I join please?

I am.starting tomorrow. I did slimming world years ago when it was just red (meat) @ green (veggie) plans , which was a bit of a faff, but I did lose.

EE plan seems do_able, so I am.just sat here planning my meals for the week.

One thing I cannot see is how you can eat as many potatoes, pasta and bananas as you want and still lose weight.

Also I hate muller light yoghurt. So I will be sticking to natural fat free yoghurt.

Good luck everyone!

I am joining on Saturday as a lot of people in work seem to be doing it at the moment. Want to lose about 2 stone but aiming to lose a stone by Christmas. Lost about 2.5st with WW over about 2 years but have plateaued/yo-yo'd for the last year (despite running 3-4 times per week) so just need something new.
Good luck everyone

I hope you don't mind me joining, technically I joined in August, the 29th to be exact, so have my second weigh in on Tuesday. I started at 12st5.5lbs (I'm 5'5) and my goal is 9st and I would like to get there by next August (big family holiday!) so I'm aiming for 1lb a week weight loss. Anymore is a bonus but I'm keeping my expectations low. Lost 1.5lb for first weigh in.

B: 2 Alpen Light Jaffa Cake bars and Muller light cherry youghurt
L: mugshot sweet and sour and a banana
D: roast chicken and veg, no skin or gravy.

Currently at 2 syns for a biscuit I ate this morning whilst visiting my Nan. Will have an options hot chocolate shortly as I've gone over my syn allowance 3 times in the last week (3 birthday in the office including my own! There was a lot of cake!) so I'm trying to keep it low over the next 3 days to make up for it

Glad I have some others along for the ride.

Welcome all.

I am trying to do an hour walk a day too, usually between 7.30-8.30 as that is when I get the munchies. I reckon that I do about 3 miles, so 21 miles a week.

I can't believe a crisp, sweet or slice of bread has not passed my lips all week.

I have had a couple of Options hot chocolates on an evening this week to get a bit of a chocolate fix.

I was doing really well, had overnight oats for breakfast, couscous salad for dinner and a lovely chickpea curry for dinner but then couldn't resista chocolate brownie the kids made at the weekend. Goodness knows how many syns are in that. I have a feeling some generous helpings of cocoa and sugar were used!

I just started last week! I was 11stone 6 earlier this year but had drifted up to 11.13 by last week (just from trying to diet too strictly and falling into binging. My goal is 10 stone but I have lipoedema so I don't know if I can get there.

First week I'm down 3.5 pounds. I'm very pleased. I'd love to be 11 stone by christmas because I know I feel really good at that weight. I'm 5'4".

Loving how kuch I can eat so far. I had M&M's last week and a bowl of crumble.

I think this is really clever of SW. Because technically it isn't unlimited. If you eat a third of a plate of veggies, that's a lot of chewing and a lot of fibre which fills your stomach up. It's quite hard to stuff in lots of carbs too. Your brain kicks in and tells you you're full.

Generally, too if a diet says 'eat this tiny portion' you tend to feel deprived and want more. If it says 'hey have as much as you want' you tend to self-regulate (and concentrate on when you actually feel full) because you know you want to lose weight. It should lead to you eating the correct amount.

I could be wrong, it could be that some people really do eat giant bowls of carbs but I'd have thought most don't.

I'm coming to this having been a low carber for years so it'll be interesting as to what I love. But 3.5 pounds off on week 1 has given me a boost!

I bought the free and easy cookbook last weigh in. So far, I've made sausage and bean casserole but used low fat sausages as couldn't be added to go on a special trip to Iceland, chick pea and spinach curry and tonight lemon pork meatballs. All were lovely actually, if a bit tomatoey. There are loads of other nice looking recipes in there. I'm impressed! Tomorrow is cottage pie!

I like that cookbook, we've had some lovely things from that. The chicken and Artichoke paella is really nice.

2 lb off for me tonight. Bit disappointed as I have been super strict- not a crisp, biscuit, sweet, piece of cake or even a slice of bread or potato has crossed my lips all week.

I suppose if I continue like this, I will be down a stone in 6 weeks time.

Hello, can I join please?

Technically I joined in August (31st!), I weighed 12st 4 1/2 and lost 1 1/2 last week. Weigh in tomorrow. I'm aiming for 11 stone to start with but would ideally like 10 1/2 or near enough.

The first few days I was eating loads of free foods but now I'm not as hungry. I'm enjoying overnight oats and often eat it in a couple of stages so I guess having a mid morning snack. I had my birthday last weekend so had a bit of a blow out on Saturday (estimated 64 syns 😱) but have been on track since. Would like a bigger loss than last week as I was a little disappointed with it.

I am loving the overnight oats. Have them every morning with either strawberries or raspberries. Having chicken with brown rice/pasta and veg for lunch. Tea is either chicken, mince or eggs. Snacking on fruit and still having a large wine of an evening. The planning is the hardest part but get everything ready the night before with the kids lunches. Hoping to lose 4st though so a long way to go !!

Seeing you all writing makes me really want to do it. I started a thread in June and then just gave up. It's so annoying because I could have been at least 8 pounds down now if I'd stuck to it. But why can't I get motivated!? I almost just need someone to come and meal plan and prepare everything for me. Seriously need a kick up the bum . There's about 14 weeks until Christmas and I just need the motivation to have that as a goal. Even if I lost half a pound a week that's be 7 pounds down. I'm going to try to check back in to this group weekly. I'll make a proper meal plan this weekend and go shopping. Good luck everyone! I'm 11 stone 1.

Oldowl · 14/09/2017 18:31

Glad to see so many joining the thread. I am sticking rigidly to the plan and making tweeks.

2 egg omelettes with loads of mushrooms, courgettes, pepper and ham, finished off under the grill with low fat cheese.

This has changed from 3 eggs and now using 1 cal spray oil.

Options hot chocolates are my saviour each evening when I NEED chocolate.

Still trying to walk for an hour each day.

I started at the end of August, but can I join this thread? I'm an online member so need a group for mutual cheering/ arse-kicking as needed!

Weigh in 3 today, lost another 2lb so 9lb off in total. About another 3 stone to go.....

Hello!

I started 4th of September, although my birthday landing on the weekend of that week meant that I gained in my first week Gin ! Only a lb though so I'm consoling myself that it could have been HEAPS worse had I not been on SW.

This week has been and will be much more settled and I'm hoping for a loss. Weighing in on Monday.

Queen, I am also online only. You kick my arse, I will kick yours.

Also, as a bit of a side note, overnight oats are life! Absolutely loving them. Have 40g porridge oats as my heb, 200g of fat-free yoghurt and strawberries and blueberries. Yum!

I joined this evening so need to figure out the online stuff but group was surprisingly good. I went with friend who started last January so she's hoping I'll drag her along and I'm hoping that will motivate me. I've made overnight porridge (love porridge!) but used a muller light lemon Greek yoghurt as it was all I had. I have a feeling they're not syn free are they? Will check tomorrow unless anyone here knows. Also remembered I actually love peppermint tea so that might help with tea at work and the milk calculation.
I'm 5'5" and weigh 11st 5.5. I've put on a stone since April through stupid attempts to diet that result in me stuffing my face by 5pm. I would love to be under 11st in 3 weeks but will have to be strict (going to a wedding which will be like a hideous school reunion-bride and groom are lovely but old friends are bitchy and we moved miles away so not seen them for years). Longer term I want to be closer to 10 stone or even under but not getting ahead of myself. Baby steps!

1 1/2 again off for me this week so 3 lbs in 2 weeks, a little disappointing but I did have my birthday where we went out. I'm not giving up though, I'm enjoying the meals and I NEED to do this.

Meal planning is definitely what helps em the lost and ensuring I have fruit or yoghurt so around for snacks. Alcohol was always my downfall as then I'd start snacking so apart from my birthday I haven't had any since August Bank holiday.

Keep going everyone, we're all fabulous

I've just weighted at work... I think my scales are wrong at home. Work scales say 11 stone 4. I'm wondering whether to try to go to Tesco and weigh myself on their big scales. Hmm.

Report
christmasunicorn · 16/09/2017 08:07

yukbuk always weigh in the same scales at the same time of day. My scales at home tell me I'm 12stone exactly but slimming worlds add on an extra 4lbs! But I guess naked on a Monday morning before food is very different to Tuesday evening fully dressed. There will always be discrepancies.
I gained 1lb last week so have been avoiding all forums as I felt like shite. Rationally I know it was my birthday the week before so, although I was still very very good, I did go well over my syns twice. Then af arrived on Tuesday which didn't help. I know why I gained, but that didn't make me feel any better.
However the gain did strengthen my resolve as I declared I never ever want to feel like that again so have been 100% on plan since. Hoping for a decent loss on Tuesday.
