I thought it might be nice to start a thread for those wanting to start sometime this week. I'm going to join online but might go to occasional group too. I've just weighed myself at a family members home and I'm 11 stone 2 1/2. I will be back here in 2 weeks so I plan to see how much I can kick start between now and then. I will actually arrive on the Friday of that weekend so from tomorrow that will be 12 days in to plan. If anyone would like to join, please let me know. I'm a total newbie. I will probably just vent about how my day has gone and what I've eaten / planned to eat. Please feel free to share any yummy meals.

Hi yukbuck! I'm planning on starting on weds and am also a total newbie. I've just weighed myself and am at 10st 7 (and a half!). I used to hover around the 9 and a half stone mark so aiming to drop a stone. I've got a wedding in France coming up mid August so have that as my target!

But actually need to keep it going beyond that so I'm trying to think long term.

How much are you hoping to lose?

Hi. I'll join you. Also have a stone to loose. Also have a wedding mid August (my brother's) so aiming for that. Starting today...

I will join you too. I need to lose around 6 stone in total but have a wedding to go to in August and would love to be able to lose a stone by then.

Hello! Joining in too if thats ok! I have one stone to lose...plan for today...

Breakfast: branflakes (hex b) cherries, raspberries and blueberries

Lunch: tuna salad 🥗

Dinner: lasagne (sw style) with extra veg and salad!

My problem is between breakfast and lunch i feel starving and feel like i get low blood sugars (shaky/sick) so snack on something carby/sugary! I also lose my apetite in the heat (not a bad thing, right?! Grin)

emille are you already on SW? You sound quite clued up! I'm a bit nervous about the terminology and rules, but my mum and sister have done it and said it's not as complicated as it sounds!

Welcome everyone!! So happy to have people on board. I'm hoping for about a stone. I'm not really sure what my ideal weight is. When I went to uni about 6 years ago, I piled on the weight and I can't really remember exactly how much I weighed before going..I wasn't at my ideal weight before going but in comparison to now... I would love to look like that again!

I signed up online last night and am trying to get my head around it all. I'm already at work but going to try to keep looking throughout the day to create an online shop.

I find walkers sunbites whole grain popcorn good for snacking on. It's 2.5 syns for the sweet and salty one and 3 for the caramel and it's worth it. Sugar snap peas are good for snacking on too x

I'm in! I got to target last October & stupidly never kept going & now I have fallen off the wagon. I have found a group I can go to on Fridays so I am getting back on it & aiming to lose 1st which will take me a little under where I was before.
Definitely need the support & motivation!

I'm rejoining tonight.

I was 1 stone away from target when I fell pregnant last year. Managed to keep fairly sensible and when I was weighed to check eligibility for the birthing pool I'd put on 2 st 7lbs, with 8lb of that being the baby.

However, since giving birth, I 've been wild. Combination of knackeredness and feeling like I deserve a treat as I'd just given birth. I'm now heavier than I was pregnant! Oh the shame! All in the space of 9 weeks.

I would love to join you. Want to lose around 2 stone for my holidays in October but no specific target in mind at the moment
I have followed slimming world before but really need some motivation to get back on track :-)

emille, what about adding a couple of boiled eggs either to breakfast or as a mid morning snack? I find eggs really keep me full if I have then for breakfast.

emille · 19/06/2017 17:50

Eggs are free on sw!

I'm rejoining tomorrow. DS2 was born 4 weeks ago. I need to lose 3 to 3.5 stone (currently 17st). I'm a bridesmaid in 6 weeks so would like to be 10lb less by then.
I was a member for a few months in early pregnancy which helped curtail my weight gain a bit and I'm breastfeeding now so hopefully that will help.

I signed up online last night - couldn't manage any meetings regularly plus they sounded a bit tedious!

Currently weigh 11 st 6 and 5ft 7 1/2z Aiming to get to around 10 stone.

Ate reasonably well yesterday and doing well today so far :)

Welcome all! Glad we have so many on board. I'm still getting my head around the whole website. Have generally eaten ok today but not totally slimming world. However, I'm able to go food shopping tonight so I will officially start tomorrow.
Meals tomorrow will be :
Breakfast- chopped fruit and fat free yoghurt (muller or similar depending what's on offer)
Lunch - cous cous salad (will make it sync free)
Dinner- Chicken breasts with a dairylea light cheese triangle/ mushrooms and peppers in the middle. Then wrapped in a slice of bacon. With wedges and some sort of veg.

Will obviously have some snacks too..going to get that popcorn!

I have a couple of questions if any of you knowledgeable people can help.

  1. With bacon, it's syn free... ? Do I just trim the fat off? As bacon medallion seem more expensive.
  2. Best wedges recipe?
  3. With the Hex a. Could i do half milk and half cheese? I only really need milk for tea. But would be good to have a bit of cheese with some meals!

Thanks. Hope everyone is doing well :)

@Yukbuck

Yes trim the fat off the bacon and it's free.

My wedges are in the micro to par boil for 4 minutes. Take out and strain into a colander, then leave to dry or dry with kitchen roll. Pop in the oven on 180 and bake for 15 minutes. Give a little shake and spray with fry light for another 10/15 mins. You could sprinkle with garlic salt or paprika to give them a taste.

Yes you can split HE's. I sometimes have 20g of porridge oats with a hifi bar or 125mls milk with a slice of cheese. Just make sure it's a full half and half split.

Off to weigh in soon. 24 weeks in and I still get nervous x

I'm going back (again) this evening. My issue is that although I'm only 5ft, I've always been around 13 stone (yes, I know it's big but always had confidence). Separated from my husband 8 weeks ago and in total free fall. Not eating properly as too lazy too cook, relying on takeaways and buying crap at work. I've managed to put 10lb on in 11 weeks and suspect I'll be 13st 11-12lb tonight. I'm single now and happy, my main concern is I don't want to be the huge mum in the school playground for my daughter come September when she starts school.
Good luck to everyone rejoining or starting new this week.

Hi, I am joining this week!
At 13st5 I really need to lose 3 stone... very scary.
Have tried on my own for months, using MyFitnessPal and exercising loads, to find out after 4 months I lost absolutely nothing whatsoever. So I am now hoping using this structure will help.
Good luck everyone!

Hi I joined a group today. 11st 6 is the heaviest I've ever been. I'd love to reach single digits (9st +) so am aiming for a 2 stone weightless.

New to Slimming World but the group seems good, and I'm going to keep up my exercise too.

Good luck everyone!
