Pre - baby I did SW and found it really good. Now I have a 10 week old and want to do it again, but I feel like I'm going to struggle without as mych time/energy to meal prep and cook from scratch.
Any tips/success stories?

Hi no success here yet... but I joined slimming world this Monday at an actual group previously done sw on my own and I have a 13 week old.

So far I have found planning is key knowing what your having to have will keep you focused and having easy things for breakfast and dinner i.e. Overnight oats and salads prepared In advance are easy to grab then we have had nice teas from sw and pinch of non etc any extras can be used for dinner the next day. I have also been writing everything down just after eating so I don't loose track :)

Could you follow the principles of sw until baby is a little older and you have more chance for prep?

No DCs myself, but I would recommend a soup maker for easy lunches at home - you can buy pre-chopped veg and just throw it in with some stock. The soup cooks itself and switches itself off afterwards so you don't have to worry about getting to it when it finishes if you have your hands full

I started with a 6 week old. She's now 9 months and I'm 2st 10lb lighter. Don't forget if you are breast feeding you need extra hexa and b.

I tried to make meals when the baby napped, tbh. Stuff like salad bags, cherry toms, ready cooked chicken, ham, tin of Tuna are all easy to throw together for a salad with one hand! Basic sandwich, chuck a potato in the oven and your hexa cheese and beans, cheese on toast is quick for a snack with your extras. Fruit for snacks, yogurts, cereal bars like alpen light are 2 for hexb or 3 syns and go with a cuppa well.

Thanks everyone, those are some fab ideas!
I think following plan but not going to group for a while.
I had no idea soup makers existed. Are they expensive?

If you have a slow cooker there's lots of things you can do. Mince/chicken thrown in with pre chopped veg to turn into spag Bol, Chinese noodles or chicken soup, pulled pork, sausage casserole etc. If you make a sw quiche at the start of the week that could do some lunches with salad. It's defo doable just need to think a bit ahead. Good luck. I do sw too but am struggling with motivation a bit ATM. I do think the principles are really good though.

Yes Girlsworld, that's why I'm kind of eager to try and get back on plan- I know essentially it is just healthy eating. I think it just feels so much harder now it's not just me and OH to think about! Slow cooker is a fab idea too. I think I'm going to try and reintroduce myself to it gradually. My breakfast and lunch are probably already plan friendly, so if I can get dinners sorted too that would be great and I've got some fab ideas from this thread. Also dread to think how many suns I'm eating now!

This is delish. Also you could batch cook and freeze.

I joined SW in January with a 10 week old and I lose an average of 1-2 pounds a week. A typical day for me is:
B: banana and mullerlights
S: hifi bar (half of HEb) and coffee using milk from HEA
L: mugshot or couscous mixed with Mediterranean vegetables I've roasted the night before, baby spinach stirred through and apple/grapes afterwards
S: hard boiled egg I've cooked night before or some ham or sliced chicken out of fridge
D: slimming world recipe meal, the app is good, I think the ones in the magazine are a bit faffy
S: hifi bar and cups of tea (rest of hen and hea)

Hope that helps. It's definitely doable but preparation is key. As you will know if you have to eat while out and about jacket potato and beans is best. Triggers for me are coffee shops (which I go to often as baby needs feeding!) so always make sure I have a hiding bar in my bag and get a skinny Cortado with shot of sugar free syrup 2.5 syns.

Acunningruse that typical day is super helpful.... it just makes it seem doable.

I might actually pop in and see my consultant next week. She is fab and will probably gave some good ideas too.

I think I need to make sure I've got equipment and good snacks in the house before I start, so no excuses
